In that case, Congressman Ellison and Mr. Alyoush all you have to do is condemn acts of terrorist murder in an unqualified manner

Keith Ellison at a Southern California CAIR fundraiser:
"If we let the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him,
lead us, our struggle will pay massive dividends"

All you have to do is tell Qaradawi off. All you have to do is tell Al Azhar, and Tantawi off.

ANAHEIM, Calif. – With star power at hand, the Council on American-Islamic Relation’s annual banquet and fund-raiser was off to a thrilling start. From first-ever Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison, to LA County Sheriff Lee Baca and actor Carl Weathers, the packed ballroom inside the Anaheim Hilton hotel was bursting at the seams with members of the Muslim community, elected leaders and various interfaith groups who came to celebrate CAIR’s achievements.

The theme of this year’s event by CAIR’s Greater Los Angeles chapter was a call for a conversation to begin, a conversation spearheaded by various community leaders who spoke with a united voice, calling for peace and unity while denouncing racism, intolerance and stereotyping.

"There is great diversity in the Muslim community," Baca said. "And CAIR is a leading voice in calling for tolerance, equality and unity."

Then renounce, and abjure from teaching the Stone and the Tree

Awad pointed out that of the seven million American Muslims, Al-Qaeda was not able to recruit a single person, proof that the American Muslim community is patriotic. The LAPD has since dropped the controversial plan.

Ayloush said the struggle of his community was not merely for the acceptance of Muslims in America, but also to protect America’s soul and great values from being manipulated and compromised by those who wish to spread fear and paranoia.

"We want an America that respects and humanizes immigrants, that rejects Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, anti-Latinos, anti-Blacks and all forms of racism," Ayloush said.

Here is Alyoush on Jihad from 2004:

"In Arabic, "jihad" means the exertion of effort for the sake of God, and has no implications of war or violence, Ayloush said. . . .

Ayloush mentioned that many individuals incorrectly associate jihad with the idea of a holy war.

This term "holy war" does not exist in Islamic terminology and was only written to describe the Crusades in the 1400s, he said.

Jihad ultimately promotes peace and justice in everyday activities, such as loving Allah above everything else and resisting worldly temptations, he added."

Got the picture?

Ellison:"Today, the one group that can be insulted freely is American Muslims"

From the FBI for 2006:

Religious bias in Hate Crimes

Of the 1,750 victims of an anti-religion hate crime:

  • 65.4 percent were victims of an offender’s anti-Jewish bias.
  • 11.9 percent were victims of an anti-Islamic bias.
  • 4.9 percent were victims of an anti-Catholic bias.
  • 3.7 percent were victims of an anti-Protestant bias.
  • 0.5 percent were victims of an anti-Atheist/Agnostic bias.
  • 8.4 percent were victims of a bias against other religions (anti-other religion).
  • 5.3 percent were victims of a bias against groups of individuals of varying religions (anti-multiple religions, group).

I say: Islam is a race? Are we back to that?

Is Alyoush stupid, or does he just keep going back to that "Islam is a race" assertion because he thinks we're all stupid enough to believe it?
