Being sidelined has its benefits. I've had a lot of time to think.
What follows is another of my long reads and delineates more of the trend of whining Muslims as they continue to attempt even more erosion of freedom of speech and freedom of the press. At present, the information in this posting may not be directly affecting you. In my view, however, the curbing of speech and press WILL directly touch you.
Mark Steyn, author of America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It, and a Canadian magazine have caught the attention of the Canadian Islamic Congress, Canada's largest non-profit Islamic organization, which is now seeking to silence Maclean's Magazine for publishing an excerpt from Steyn's book....

Michael Savage expressed it best in this screed:

Infringement of our first amendment right to free expression should not be tolerated. But is the threat of 'infringement' enough (in terms of potential damages) to qualify every citizen concerned with this legal circus funded by CAIR (which is clearly funded by foreign interests) to join in a class action suit with Michael Savage to shut down CAIR once and for all.
Why doesn't the American government make moves to close down CAIR, I wonder?
There are people who actually think CAIR is the NAACP or ADL.
I'm trying to envision Thurgood Marshall at CAIR.
I'm having a hard time.
CAIR is here to safeguard quranically mandated efforts to help the USA enjoy Islamic Peace.
How's that sound for PC?
Mark,
Lots of us have asked that question. We don't know why CAIR is allowed to be here on U.S. soil.
Epa,
Well, I think that we know the Islamic definition of "peace"--all the world as Dar al-Islam.
CAIR purports to equate itself with civil-rights groups, as you mentioned. And the group manages lots of pr in that regard.
I believe that the organization's purpose is to promote the Islamification of the United States.
Mark,
Addedum....
I could do some surmising as to why.
On the other hand, I do hold the hope (false?) that CAIR could be under investigation.
So far, attempts to prove CAIR's connections to terrorist organizations have proved unsuccessful, even though some individuals on the governing board have gotten into a lot of trouble legally.
