All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Borders Books Children's Section Celebrates Obama As A Religious Figure
The church of Obama. You Rush Limbaugh once joked that an Obama presidency might not even be legal because it would violate the separation of church and state because Obama is a religion. I beginning to wonder if its true.
At my local borders book store, there were children's books about Islam placed on the ends of the most prominent aisles in the childrens section as well. Don't appear to be selling too well, that's for sure.
Yet another reason to stay the hell out of the children's section. (The first two are 1)mommies and 2)kids.)
I have not seen more than 1 or 2 books about Islam geared to children at our store. There are very few identifiable Muslims who come into the store.
Obama, on the other hand, is everywhere you look. He takes up about 4 shelves in the Politics/Governement section, a couple of prominent end caps, and don't even ask about the Periodicals section.
Well I have a feeling our nation's love affair with Obama won't last much longer. He's bound to do something so that will tick a lot of people off, and not just people who didn't vote for him.
When I was a nurse we had to learn about the basic rights guaranteed to patients. One was freedom from intellectual abuse. This always stumped me. I would ask administrators who were supposed to be experts on patients' rights what this meant. The only answer I ever got was along the lines of. "Gee, I don't know." I'm now wondering if what these kids are being subjected to in bookstores is what was meant by intellectual abuse.
I 'run into' BHO's and MO's faces in every store that carries books or magazines--geeez---I'd boycott my local Ralph's-Target-Borders-CVC-but-then- I'd have to grow my own food and make my own clothes! C-CS
Its not that big of a deal. Most book stores, unless they are some kind of odd specialty book store, probably also carry at least a few books critical of Obama and critical of Islam. I can tell you for a fact that even my local Cosco has, and they definitively don't specialize in books, and they usually only carry a few dozen books at a time. Most stores that sell books and magazines don't base what books or magazines they carry on any political, social or religious agenda. The owners base their decision on what to sell based on what they think will make money.
The Cult of Obama -- perpetrated upon children's minds!
One of my students, a quite immature high schooler who voted in the 2008 election, refers to BHO as "Barack." Strange that he feels such kinship! But I think that his reference indicates what kind of insanity the opposition to BHO is up against.
Don't be so quick to just sum this up as simply chance or money...maybe yes, on the part of the retailers,
but have you not been keeping up with the new law, CPSIA,
let me refresh you, in case you are not aware. CPSIA law passed by majority of dems/congress and signed by Bush,
states that no product sold to children 12 & under can be sold/or distributed unless tested for lead/phalates. That includes books.
They passed a half ass 'stay' on it however it doesn't go into effect until March, the special interest groups that pushed for this law using 'children's interest' to do it, are none other than your far left fringe groups [Public Citizen] for one [I would say down right Stalinist-communist in their ideology].
But they weren't alone in this, large corporations that manufacture in China, for example, also had their lobbyists working to pass this law...i.e. Mattel, though there is denial of this.
The media barely touched the surface of this law and that ONLY after small businesses, mostly women artesans [SaveHomemade.org] caught wind of it, and that was in December.
Feb 10 thrift stores and small stores were throwing out All children's books printed prior to 1985 to the dump, Mr. Moore with the Consumer Product/Commerce Commission [not correct name] of Fed Gov demanded the stay be reversed and that the ones protesting this Stalinist law were the ones responsible for tainting children with lead,
which is a boldface lie--the lead comes from China [by percentage] and China is not going to be effected by this law, not in any comparison to small autonomous businesses here. He also demands the sequestering of books, prior to 85 and that includes in the libraries as do other interest groups pushing for this law.
The thing is, the media including the conservative are not paying that much attention to this law because well for one, it effects mostly women owned businesses, and hey, they are invisible anyway,
who cares about mommies working in the home--not only that, but this law is also another underhanded way in doing away with Homeschooling because the homeschool publishers are going to be hit hard with this law due to having to have every single page tested for lead/phalates.
The fine for breaking this law is 10,000 to 100,000 plus imprisonment/it is a felony. Though the CPSA says it won't prosecute, for now,
those of us fighting this law know it is one of those tools the gov can pull out, many prosectuting state attorneys have already declared stay or no stay they will prosecute [CT being one of those states].
It gets better,
the ALA has been fighting this law but thus far, its been vague as to the outcome. It is no doubt in my mind and a few others, that this is a direct censurship and gov taking absolute intellectual control over our children [and citizens alike],
ok, so that's just one law...but right now, Senator Boxer is pushing for immediate ratification of the UN Rights of the Child--which gives, not the US gov power but the UN 18 member panel the power to decide, for those of us in the West,
what is in the best interest of our children. Parents rights will be no more.
You know exactly what the UN is about and what that will mean,
so, seeing Obama books in the religion section, doesn't surprise me on bit and I can almost bet you,
due to this CPSIA law and the whole paper is bad thing due to lead [the ink] and the stimulus package that is pushing for every rural area school to be equipped with computers,
where kids will be taught from, rather than books. Now you know, Fairness Doctrine and so forth, who controls the internet controls the information,

What a shock. LOL!
Brooke,
Yeah, real shocking, huh?
Anonymous,
Would you mind telling us what the city is? Are there a lot of Muslims in your city?

Snaggletoothie,
This does seem like intellectual abuse to me. That's a great observation.
