All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

There are Christians in the Netherlands?? Who knew?
Anyway, I love this guy. How do we get him on US TV??
Truth be told I don't think that you and Pat Condell would get along, but you would definitally agree on Islam, and he would probably love the Infidel Bloggers Alliance.
Well, I don't really care if a person insults Christianity. But, I do care if a person makes it their mission to get rid of Christianity.
I don't think that's Condell's mission.
Charles Johnson, for instance, is not trying to destroy Christianity, though a lot of Christians are angry with him over the Evolution thing. What Charles is trying to do, from what I can tell, is to shine a light on the anti-rational idiocy that is being promoted in churches across the United States. He is particularly concerned with the Christianist attempt to legislate Intelligent Design into school curriculums.
I think that is a legitimate concern.
From my perspective, it seems to me he spends an inordinate amount of time on that subject. It seems to me the Jihad is a much bigger deal.
But, we all make our choices, right?
I guess his perspective is that, if we don't preserve a strong sense of the Scientific Method in our American schools, we won't have an advanced society anyway, so why put the fight against Islam first?
My opinion is, these Christianists are not going to win the fight anyway. But, what do I know?
I haven't spent much time watching Condell's videos which are critical of Christianity.
Here's the thing, I am a Christian, but I am well aware of the fact that there are a lot of Christians who have idiotic beliefs. I go to a church which is not like that.
And, I read a lot of Catholic writings, stuff by Weigel, Ratzinger, etc. and First Things magazine.
The world I live in is not occupied by dumbass Christians. And, I don't spend much time reading the news either, believe it or not.
I studied Philosophy and Literature in college. My thought tends towards the abstract.
The only reason I concern myself with the Jihad is because it pierced the arty, bizarro bubble world I lived in on 9/11. And then, when I started seeing the rise in anti-Semitism, I began to believe we were in for another worldwide conflagration.
So, Condell is not really on my radar. His mission does not cross paths with mine, except at the intersection of Jihad and Western Civ.
By the way, if this fucking war would ever end, I would just go back to reading poetry and listening to Miles Davis.
That's pretty much all I've been doing lately. You may notice I don't write much anymore.
I'm sick of this subject. But, I feel compelled to get the information out.
Thank God for MR and Epa and all the others who are so prolific here at IBA.
I bought Pat's DVD and have listened to the more-than-a-hundred rants of his, and it is interesting. At first his rants are all about just religion in general. But then he slowly started focusing in on Islam. I think he realized that we have much more to worry about from Islam than all other religions combined.
At Condell's YouTube site, you'll notice he has some favorite videos. A recent pick does a fairly good job of wrapping up the Wilders/free speech situation in the UK -
Shouting fire in a theatre - A video montage of the Geert Wilders debate
At the end of the video, Lord Pearson explains why he supported inviting Geert Wilders to show his film FITNA thusly:
@ 4:31 "What Baroness Cox and I are trying to do is promote discussion, particularly amongst the vast majority of the mild Muslim population who have really got to start discussing what the Qur'an means amongst themselves and against their co-religionists who perpetrated everything you saw in that film {FITNA}. So, which way around is the hate? Is it 'us' that hate 'them'? Or, is it 'them' that hate 'us', and why?

R.
He is great. I can't imagine anyone would put him on TV.

CW,
I hope that's true. That seems reasonable to me.
