Jihad Watch reader Rob has kindly alerted me to this extraordinary post at Sameer Parker's "Just Your Average Muslim" blog:
Apologies To Robert Spencer Posted March 17, 2009I started this site as a refutation of Robert Spencer and so-called “Islamophobes”. But after much contemplation and study, I must say that Robert Spencer was right all along!
Yes, it is me and I can’t lie to myself anymore
Awhile back Sameer Parker wrote a "Response to Robert Spencer" at the same site, but he appears to have taken it down. In any case, I am moved and honored by his intellectual honesty and generosity of spirit. It is not necessary for you to apologize to me, Mr. Parker, but it is necessary for me to thank you -- to thank you for recognizing the truth and living by it despite how difficult it may be to do so. And to do this at a time when fewer and fewer people have the courage to acknowledge, must less live by, the truth, demonstrates that you possess an uncommon bravery and wisdom.
I look forward to standing with you in our common struggle to defend Western civilization and the great principles of freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, the equality of rights all people before the law, and all the other aspects of the dignity of the human person that are denied and threatened by the global jihad and Islamic supremacism.
That's what I call a Muslim who is also a moderate. And, a potential friend.

Maybe I am far too cynical...there one ONLY one post on that site by a 'blogger'.
Possible? Sure.
Likely?
Color me stiff necked you know what.
I need to be convinced the whole thing is real ...somehow.
Epaminondas,
I thought the sam thing then I found this in the comments:

I’m curious why there are no archives on this blog. From what I can tell, there are only two postings, the “Apology” on this page, and a link to one other post (plus a link to a video of Spencer).
Where are all the past posts by Sameer Parker?

@ Hesperado
I removed all the posts because they sickened me
I found exactly ONE and only ONE other post cached in all of history.
Possible that 100's of others have no cache anywhere?
Sure.
Likely?
NO WAY.
Really odd.
At best.
Epimondas and others. I was following this story closely. Here is what Sameer told us: He is deeply ashamed of his writing. He was so ashamed that he removed them and sent a formal apology to Robert. From what I read on his site before he removed them...and he was under cyber attack from a lot of muslims accusing him of being a liar and that his site was a spoof site. Let me tell you, I wrote some seriously misguided crap about a woman who'd been a hostage and she had spouted some nonsense about how nice her captors were, wearing the hijab while doing it. I was wrong, REALLY wrong, when she was rescued by American soldiers in Iraq. She had a gun pointed at her the whole time. She wrote about her captivity and praised the troops as the best. I was clearly wrong and I wrote a public apology. I really wanted to remove all traces of my unfair smears, but I left them up, along with the apology. But I can understand why he would want to do that if he has really had a crisis conversion of sorts. If you want to find out what he wrote, type his url into the search bar at internetarchives.org
They have a wayback machine.
Thanks Jewel, there is are more pages there, and I am convinced he is real
The Wayback Machine is always linked at my main site CUANAS, if anyone can't remember how to find it.
I use it quite often in my research. In many cases, it's even more helpful than Google cache.
It's particularly helpful when researching clients in the business world.
