I'm speechless. Very moving.
Imagine... the first time music has been heard there since liberation.
Contrast this with when the Nazis played music while the Jews were being led to the "showers".
I assume the graffiti on the walls and pillars is from the prisoners... very moving.

I was listening to this piece in the backyard yesterday, while smoking a cigar. It is beautiful, so I wanted to share it.
I was thinking about how appropriate the music was for the subject matter of our site.
And then, when I looked up the music on YouTube, I was surprised to find this video, linking the music to Auschwitz. I don't know anything of Gorecki's intentions when he wrote the music. All I know is it is beautiful/tragic music.
