All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

CNN Video: "1.5 Million Americans converted to Islam"
Yes, and some number of people become protestant, catholic, baptist, hindu, bhuddist or some other flavor of the day. Simply the detritus of modernity IMO.
Oh another thing. If Christians said a figure on number of Christians around the world that wasn't based on anything solid, there'd be a full-on inquiry on that by now BY CNN! I see double standards here.
It was history channel I think that once did a "documentary" on the Bible and they said in the introduction that it was going to be balanced. All they did was presented one CHRISTIAN scholar and everyone else was a bible basher. They then did a "documentary" on Islam and presented Islam as Muslims would present it. They only had Muslim speakers and no one questioned the authenticity of the book of the stupids that is Quran.
Wish I could change this trend, wish I could change it!
Immediately after 9/11-our CA schols put in place a 'tolerance' mandate-even to the point of the young children praying to the god of Islam---and reading the koran...(LCOP) C-CS LCOP= Lower Case On Purpose....
I took classes on Islam during my senior year of highschool and during my freshman year of college. I wrote reports on "radical Islam" and the book of Jihad, which I still have on my shelf. I used to be very sympathetic to Islam and used to have a very PC mentality when discussing Muslims as a people. I even visited a Saudi-funded Mosque (King Fahd Mosque in Culver City) for a field trip and did a report on my experiences, which were not at all negative. Unsurprisingly, they gave me stacks of literature and pamphlets discussing the advantages of understanding and eventually embracing Islam. My turning point was seeing the mutilated corpses of the blackwater contractors being dragged through Fallujah and strung up to a bridge. I have never heard of such barbarity, only in history books. Then the beheading of Nick Berg came, followed by beheading, after beheading, after beheading. Memories of Muslims dancing in the streets, burning American flags, and demonstrating all over the world came back to my mind. After seeing the unparalleled hostility towards Jews, Christians, and non-believers as a whole, I had lost my respect for Islam. To prove my disgust of Islam, I tossed my Koran in the trash. That's my little rant for now.
When Bush, the MSM, the churches (a local one invited an imam to speak 3 weeks after 9/11 and about 500 feet from the home of a victim) and virtually everyone else failed to do the necessary education about Islam following the 9/11 attacks what filled the vacuum was a lot of PC crap ("The very word means Peace!") Where was our version of "Why We Fight"? Instead we got 9/11 conspiracy theories and puff pieces in the NY Times about mullahs in Brooklyn and once the Muslims realized they weren't going to be stoned in the streets in this country the Da'wah shifted into high gear.
The result was that Islam became another cult bent on recruitment just like the Moonies or the latest New Age guru. The same tactics applied: "love bomb" the target convert with attention, puff up the "positive" elements of the belief system, dismiss any criticism as "bigotry", make the target feel special, work on their discontents about their lives and the society in which they live, encourage them to attend services and read the "holy writings" and try out religious dress and prayers, alienate them from family and friends who will be replaced by cult "brothers and sisters". In the case of Islam if you discover overt or latent anti-semitism or leftist America-hatred or Bushitlerism conspiracy theory or "seekers" alienated from their family religions or pure air-headed ignorance, well then, all the better.
When I was investigating cults I got to thinking I had seen them all. But I missed the biggest one in the world, and it was right under our noses: Islam.
Total, I used to be an idiotic Chomsky-reading Leftist, but I never fell for Islam. I remember telling a Muslim kid in high school that his religion was dangerous and hateful. I never did know how to keep my mouth shut.
Are you telling me you studied Jihad and came away respecting Islam?
Jihad was taught to me simply as a "struggle" that was the duty of all Muslims, not necessarily having to deal with violence. Even though the class emphasized that Jihad is typically an armed struggle, they focused on the verses that forbade the killing of innocents. I was told to disregard the verses such as "kill the unbelievers wherever you find them" as they were not as frequent.
By the way, I'm reading the book of Jihad right now and here is one of the verses why Muslims are indoctrinated to hate America:
There are various authentic traditions according to which the Prophet, Peace be upon him, has ordered to fight the Kharijites. In the sahih of al-Bukhari as well as in the sahih of Muslim it is reported on the authority of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib,' may God be please with him, that he said:
"I have heard the Messenger of God, Peace be upon him, saying; 'Towards the end of time a group of people will emerge, young of age and simple of minds, who will speak the most beautiful words, but whose faith does not go deeper than their throats. They will abandon the religion just like an arrow pierces and then abandons a game animal. Wherever you find them you must kill them since those who kill them will be rewarded on the Day of Resurrection.'"
Total, Look at that, the Prophet Mohammed the Monkey (typing at his typewriter) was right at least once. He perfectly prophesied today's Christians and Jews.
I take objection to the statement "it's important to wipe your ass with the pages of the koran everyday."
The pages of the Koran are uncomfortably harsh and crinkly, and insufficiently absorbent for toilet tissue. The intact Koran does however function as a perfectly adequate beer-mat.
"They will abandon the religion just like an arrow pierces and then abandons a game animal." It has always been the ex-members who are capable of speaking most powerfully against any cult. So the arrow that pierces and abandons can indeed kill as well.

Exactly.
GWB biggest mistake, as far as I'm concerned.
As I'm fond of saying, "Allah the moon god is not my God, and Mohammed the Pedophile is not my prophet."
Be sure you have the Arabic one, if you truly want to infuriate Muslims as any translated Koran is viewed as blasphemous. I remember an Afghan in his mid 20s was recently sentenced to death in Kabul for translating the Koran to the vernacular.

Unfortunately, Islam has indeed been the largest growing religion in the United States since 9/11. It is a phemonena I have little explanation for.

I posted the video without any comment, except for the hat tip.
I couldn't think what to say.
The fifth column is growing and not only by immigration and family size of Moslems.
Total,
Many Christian churches have lost their moxie and are preaching that "all paths lead to God." That's part of the problem.
"But the ship's not really sinking then!" cried the frightened little stowaways from the rising swells. "Let us back aboard!"
"No," said the captain. "And no."

Wow, if so you were more out there than me.
Jihad was taught to me simply as a "struggle" that was the duty of all Muslims, not necessarily having to deal with violence. Oh, I see.
I'm probably a little older than you. I was 16 when Khomeini destroyed Iran.
That's where I got my impression of Islam. That and from having read about Malcolm X because I had been a fan of Muhammed Ali and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
I stopped being a fan of Jabbar, but I still like Ali.
;-)

For me it is the other way around I stopped being a fan of Ali but still like KAJ.
Primarily over being a draft dodger and a Nation of Islam follower.

Still waiting for my fatwa!
M R Royd,

Decent doorstop too.
My copy, obtained from CAIR, sits on the floor of my home office. In the winter, my pig sprinkling can sits on top of it.
