From Jihad Watch:

(ANSAmed) - DUBAI, JANUARY 13 - Today in Dubai, OneWorld 2011 was presented, an ambitious project that aims to defeat stereotypes and misunderstandings between Muslims and the West by creating and event-movement founded on sharing sports, art, entrepreneurship, and reciprocal understanding.

The initiative will be inaugurated in Seattle (USA) on the 10th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center in New York, and will involve at least 40 Muslim countries.

The initiative is founded on seven essential elements: youth exchange programmes, with both sides hosting youngsters for at least a month; sports, with football tournaments - mainly women's - between young Americans and Muslims; an art and cultural festival; a trade bazaar that will gather hundreds of entrepreneurs from both sides; a medical conference; a conference dedicated to women; and an inter-religious conference that has already received the full support of U.S. President Barack Obama.

"The idea was born seven years ago, due to the climate created after the 9/11 attacks, but the conditions for the start of a real project, which will begin as an event that will last for just a few months, but intends constantly evolve, were set in place only after the election of President Obama," explained Bob Walsh, the creator and founder of OneWorld 2011, while speaking to ANSAmed.

Walsh is not new to these kinds of initiatives; in 1990, together with Ted turner [sic] he organised the Goodwill Game to bring down the iron curtain between the Russians and Americans. After the inaugural event in Seattle, OneWorld will be repeated every two years in a different Muslim capital city. (ANSAmed).

If Muslims want to repair their image they simply need to stand up to the Jihadists in their midst. They need to report them to the FBI, the CIA, and to the American Military. They need to denounce the murder of gays, apostates, and adulterers, and they need to denounce calls for Jihad and the installation of Sharia law.

If Muslims did that we would trust them.

Having a "Good Will" event on the anniversary of 9/11 only makes me trust them less and hate their religio-political Krayon even more.

To be fair, this story could, perhaps, be an example of Muslims standing up en masse against a Jihadist (from Jawa):

No One Wants Sheik Faisel

Afrique en ligne:

A Nairobi high court on Thursday ordered the Kenyan government to produce in court the controversial Jamaican Muslim cleric, Sheikh Abdullah al Faisal, who is at the centre of a deportation saga that has put the gover n ment and Muslim faithfuls in the country at loggerheads.

However, the government is unlikely to heed the order as government Spokesman, Alfred Mutua, said that the deportation of the cleric remained a top security priority because Al-Fasial "is a dangerous man who can inspire Kenyans to terrorism".

How about Gambia? Nope don't want him.

Neither does Nigeria, Britain, etc etc.

If and when he does make it back to Jamaica he has this to look forward to.

The Gambian decision came days after Jamaican Muslims called for Al-Faisal's indictment on grounds of his alleged terrorism liaisons with Osama bin Laden's terrorism outfit, al Qaeda.

Mutua said, "He is so dangerous that in his own country, the Supreme Islamic Organ in Jamaica has banned him from preaching or giving speeches. He is among the kind of people who give a bad name to Islam."

SICK.

As in the cases of Nazi Germany, the Empire of Japan, and the Soviet Union, "reconciliations" can start AFTER we have defeated them and they are no longer a threat to our survival.

However, things may well have come to a head before the planned Kumbayah cluster-f*** in 2011. Meanwhile, folks in Seattle need to voice a very firm NO to this cockamamie combo of the 1936 Olympics and Woodstock.

SICK.

Pastorius,

If they really want to dispel negative stereotypes of Muslims they need to stop supporting terrorism and abandon sharia and any laws that discriminate or treat people as less worth based on religion.

Revere Rides Again,

Sadly you're probably correct. Its unlikely that Jihadists will stop trying to destroy us anytime soon, unless they think they can't possibly succeed. That means in order to get that to happen we will have to beat them so badly that the overwhelming majority of them will think victory is impossible. That will not be easy, and I fear it will cost countless lives, many of which will be innocent people. Its sad really.

RRA,
Yes, we can reconcile AFTER the problem is solved, as you say.

However, I can't imagine Japan turning December 7th into "Reconciliation Day", nor can I imagine America celebrating the dropping of the Atomic Bomb.

The idea of using 9/11 as a day of celebration is sick. Only Muslims would be involved in an event of such hubris.
