You know what I realized. I know nothing about Teddy Pendergrass, and I've probably never heard any of his songs.

I don't know these songs.

I took a hiatus from Pop Culture from 1977-1983; I didn't watch TV, listen to the radio, read magazines, or consume any popular media of any kind.

Hence I know very little of what happened during that time.

Pretty much all I did during those years was play drums, listen to Weather Report, the Talking Heads, Led Zeppelin, Brian Eno, John Coltrane, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Oregon, and local punk music. I played in bands, and went to college studying Philosophy.

I was so disconnected it is amazing.

Teddy Pendergrass doesn't even sound familiar to me.

Oh yeah, he's a very good singer.

By the way, he was in Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. I knew he had been involved in some old band.
