WASH POST/ABC POLL: ONE YEAR LATER, OBAMA TANKING

FROM WASH POST AND ASTUTE BLOGGERS:
A year into his presidency, President Obama faces a polarized nation and souring public assessments of his efforts to change Washington, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Nearly half of all Americans say Obama is not delivering on his major campaign promises, and a narrow majority have just some or no confidence that he will make the right decisions for the country's future.

More than a third see the president as falling short of their expectations, about double the proportion saying so at the 100-day mark of Obama's presidency in April.

At the time, 63 percent said the president had accomplished a "great deal" or a "good amount." Now, the portion saying so has dropped to 47 percent.
THANK GOD OBAMA EXPOSED HIMSELF BEFORE BEING ABLE TO ENACT MOST OF HIS AGENDA AND IN IN UNDER 365 DAYS.

THE DAMAGE HE'S DONE IS CONSIDERABLE BUT NOT YET IRREPARABLE.

WE WILL COME BACK - STARTING ON 1/20/10 - EXACTLY ONE YEAR TO THE DAY FROM BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA'S INAUGURATION.

PASTORIUS COMMENT: I had been predicting that Barack Obama might well be thrown out of office by his own party. My reasoning was correct, but my understanding of the Democratic Party's commitment to Obama's agenda was wrong.

I believed, and was right in believing that Barack Obama's agenda was outside of the American Tradition, and that it would be recognized as such by the American people. I believed and predicted that there would be a great uprising by the American people againg Obama's agenda.

We have seen that flowering in the Tea Party movement (it's going to get worse the more he pushes healthcare and Cap and Trade).

What I did not understand was that Democrats like Ben Nelson and Christopher Dodd would literally be willing to sacrifice their seats in the Senate to vote for Obama's agenda. I figured that once they saw Obama's agenda was tanking with the American people, they would rather kick Obama out (or turn him into a lame duck) in order to save their own assses.

Apparently not. And, this is astounding to me.

All I can guess is this healthcare and Cap and Trade legislation must be quite the backroom cash cow for Democrats, otherwise it would make no sense to sacrifice seats in the Senate and House to push through law that is hated by the American people.

It will be interesting to see, over the course of the time leading up to next November's elections, whether Obama can actually ramrod his legislation through, or whether the Democrats will see the writing on the wall, and instead render the Obama Presidency incapacitated.

I believe that guys like Chris Dodd and Ben Nelson are getting rock solid promises that amount to the personal fulfillment of a wish list for them, their family, and even maybe some friends.
The demon-rat/leftist party is loaded with both corruption and money (and not afraid or restrained by morality from using either) while controlling 90% or more of academia, the media and popular culture.

I subscribe to the hard copy of the WaPo.

I note that today, about one year after BHO took office, that the WaPo has little positive to say about BHO.

Something is afoot with this criticism.

Pastorius,

I'm really glad to hear this! I hope this means that Obama is going to be a one term president.

I've been saying that we are seeing a unique political animal here with the Democrats. One that is almost impossible to to stop.

They know they have the power. We have a one party rule today. They know that this will last only two years.

They are willing to commit political suicide to finally achieve the progressive agenda they've been working towards for 40 years. They don't care if they ever are in power again for 20 years. They would have implemented national health care, cap and trade - climate change legislation - and soon amnesty of illegals.

And if they can gerrymander the political lines with the 2010 census - all the better.

The strategy has worked. Control the education a establishment and dumb down the population. Go around the elected legislative processors by passing laws and legislate from the bench.

Even if conservative take back control, it may be too late.

The only recourse then is to repeal the laws the Dems have created. I don't know if tat is possible. I've never seen a law repealed since Prohibition.

The changes, I feel, will only come by some other means.

Nelson etc ?
After Larry Craig, Foley, Ensign, and on and on right along to Scott Ritter this week, don't you think almost EVERY ONE OF THESE MORONS is blackmailable in congress?

That's why we need term limits so badly. It would eliminate the 'professional' office seekers and leave those few who want to serve, and attract those who want to give that service RELUCTANTLY FOR A SHORT WHILE, and then head 'back to the farm'

Yes, serving as a member of Congress was not intended to be a career.
