Personally, I am not high on "Burn a Koran" Day. But, this threat has me starting to believe, perhaps, everyone in America ought to participate.
The reality is, burning books is NOT against any Human Right, nor is it against the Bill of Rights. In fact, it is an expression of the Freedom of Speech articulated in our First Amendment.
I am for people having the right to burn the American flag. I don't approve of it, but I am for their right to do it.
Likewise, I am for the right to burn the Koran, the Bible, or whatever book anyone gets it up their ass to burn.
The fact of the matter is, Islam does not believe in Freedom of Conscience. Islam stipulates that any Muslim who chooses to leave his religion is to be killed, according to their law, Sharia.
We need to oppose Sharia, and thereby oppose Islam and the Koran, as strongly as possible. Sometimes this may include participating in provocative acts aimed at forcing Jihadist, Sharia-supporting Muslims into the open.
This is why I say, I am starting to believe, perhaps, we all ought to participate in Burn a Koran Day.
If you didn’t already know, Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida will call for Sept. 11 to be an “International Burn a Koran Day.”
Provocative? Yes.
Inflammatory? Absolutely.
Bridge-building? No
Act of good faith? Uh…no.
Necessary to put “Islamic tolerance” to the true test? Abso-freakin-lutely.
I actually think it’s sad that we have to do things like this just to prove a point, but the un-informed indifferent populace needs to understand the extremist nature that dominates the majority of Islam in the modern era. Muslims can’t pass a test like this. They simply can’t. Why? Because the “radicals” are about 80-90% of the majority and Muslims like Zhuddi Jasser are simply a dime a dozen.
The Muslim community has a great opportunity here…sure they’ll be rightly offended by this provocative act, but it should be used to show their tolerance for freedom of speech. Show the world that you actually ARE a religion of peace…Good luck with that!
Predictable news from the local news WOKV
One jihadist website vowed to conduct suicide bombings in Florida to avenge the Koran burning, while others predicted an increase in terrorist recruits as a result of such actions.
“By Allah, the wars are heated and you Americans are the ones who…enflamed it,” says one such posting. “By Allah you will be the first to taste its flames.”
Jones said the radical threats confirmed his views of Muslims. “I can understand that they would be offended. I think their reactions–violence, threats, murders terrorist attacks–that only reveals the true nature of Islam which needs to be revealed,” he said.

Pastorius,
Once again, Islamic Tolerance fails the test. seriously, does anyone think that if any Christian acted this way, in response to a "Burn A Bible Day," he wouldn't have met wide spread condemnation respected, mainstream Christian Leaders across the country, if not the world? Whatever issues a reasonable person might have with Burn The Koran Day, or the people behind it, Jihadist will make them look good by comparison.
I won't pay for a koran, giving their prophet any profit. But I wholly support the idea behind the burnings of existing copies. Islam delende est.
Know Islam=No Peace
Know Peace=No Islam
Lan Astaslem.
I don't have much time, but here are some preliminary thoughts.
1) I am a Christian. When I do not know what to do, in any given situation, I try to do what the Bible says. The Bible says, "Let you no be no, and your yes be yes. Do I believe in burning books? No. I could make up reasons why I believe in burning Korans (as I did in the intro to this post), but ultimately, I simply do not believe in burning books.
2) Why do I not believe in burning books? Because I believe that Freedom of Speech, and it's attendant, but unstated Freedoms of Conscience and of the Privacy of one's own mind, are next to the Worship of God. In fact, I believe it is impossible to Worship God truly without these Freedoms.
3) I believe Books are a manifestation of the Freedom of Speech, and therefore they are a kind of Sacred Object in our culture. This says something very good about our culture.
4) I do not believe that books are truly a sacred object, and for me to think they are would be idolatry. So, books can be burned, but I treat them with respect, indeed, with more respect than almost any other object.
That's all I have for now.
rich irony is what this exposes.
we have real world examples of what christians have done and said when confronted with abominable acts against thier faith.
just look at the piss christ controversy. no christians rioted or murdered or blew up pople or even assaulted anyone over that dispicable non art.
contrast this with the mayhem perpatrated by the followers of mO when they feel aggrieved and you have your answer if your not blind.
Um, so you're taking votes here? Cause I say burn THAT book, in particular. It's your constitutional right!
Prof. F. N. Lee's "ISLAM IN THE BIBLE"
Eminent Australian theologian and church historian known worldwide as Professor Francis Nigel Lee (who has eleven earned doctorates!) has found claims in the Koran that may have escaped the attention of many Muslims including those in the White House.
It's amazing how often in history someone notices an unclear passage in the Bible, sees possibilities in it as a wellhead, isolates it and then backstabbingly uses it against the Bible's intent while developing an anti-Biblical cult or false religion!
Dr. Lee quotes the Koran which claims that when Jesus promised that after His departure He would send the Holy Spirit to be personally with His followers as the "Comforter" (John 14:16, John 15:26, etc.), Jesus was actually promising He would send them Mohammed! (Aside from the blasphemy, has history shown Mohammed and his fanatical followers to be "Comforters" of human beings?)
Another quote from the Koran that Dr. Lee reveals is that the disciples of Jesus viewed themselves as "Muslims" - centuries before Mohammed was born!
To read Dr. F. N. Lee's scholarly and informative article, type in the "Islam in the Bible" pdf article associated with him. Interestingly, leading Christian scholars for many centuries have viewed the 9th chapter of Revelation (with its references to a violent army of 200 million who torture mankind in earth's final days, the centering on "the great river Euphrates," and the connection to demons loosed from "the bottomless pit" who inhabit this army) as a scary portrait of Islam murdering, in a short period, one-third of earth's population, as is explicitly stated there!
Readers may also wish to Google "Imam Bloomberg's Sharia Mosque" and "Michelle Obama's Allah-day" since these two items have been in the news lately.

Anonymous,
There's nothing in the Bible predicting Mohammad. There's just somethings in there being interpreted as such.
