That image is pure evil. I have a hard time seeing it as anything but evil manifested.
It is simply saying, Islam will grow up in the absence of the culture destroyed by Islam.
It is an image of war and conquering.
Pastorius,
That's what I see in the image too.
It is infuriating. Yes, about war and conquest.
At first I had a hard time even seeing the minaret in it. All I could see were the towers.

I got a email from ACT for America including some observations by Andrew McCarthy on American Muslims. Seems that while most of them "crave liberty" and "want to help", they are afraid. Of violent retaliation? No. "these people were mostly worried that they and their families would be ostracized in their communities as traitors to Islam".
McCarthy is sympathetic and understanding towards these people. I say, these are not really Americans at all. These are Muslims sucking at the American teat but unwilling to BE Americans if it means their imam and cousins and uncles and grandmas in headscarves might push them out and they would have to LET GO of their Dark Age Islamic traditions.
As McCarthy notes, there are exceptions such as Zuhdi Jasser and Steven Schwartz who are reformists who try to offer muslims an escape from Muslim Brotherhood influence. I agree that such people deserve our support. But it sounds to me as if a lot of the "moderate American muslims" they are trying to reach need a swift kick in the pants from the rest of us to remind them that collaboration and treason are not on the table as options.
Zuhdi Jasser & Steven Schwartz continue to self-identify as 'muslim'. There is no moderate Islam. Repeat. Any vestige of this hateful, deceitful creed presents a clear and imminent danger to the Constitutional freedoms we cherish. From the fatiha to the ninth sura - there is no compassion, no tolerance for unbelievers. The 'prophet of islam' sets the clear example for all men for all time, until all worship is for allah. What part of that do you not understand? Schwartz and Jasser are playing us all for fools. Once either or both come out and denounce the example of mohammad - then you are talking of moderation - but not of islam. Without mo, islam crumbles and fails.
"What the anti mosque uproar tells us about how the US regards Muslims?"
WHO THE FFFFFUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK DO THEY THINK THEY ARE TO ARROGATE TO THEMSELVES, AT A FAILING PUBLICATION WITH DRAMATICALLY SHRINKING BUDGETS, ADS, PAGE VOLUME AND CIRCULATION WHAT THIS 'UPROAR' MEANS?
This nation has a LOT to go through.
RRA if you read the Two Faces of Islam, you will see that despite Schwartz's utter well reasoned hatred of the Wahabbis, he is unfortunately enamored of the shia side and makes not ONE negative remark about Khomeinism and the mullahs. AS for McCarthy.. my acquaintances have have gone so far as stopping going to mosque, but not one will speak out. They are not worried about ostracism, they are worried about physical violence and their families. I can't blame them. They can't go out and kill the people they are worried about.
