Nuclear-Armed Iran:Not the End of the World ….. uhm.. just Israel

Yale Journal of International Affairs:

The following facts about Iran are largely beyond dispute. It is outspent militarily by three of its closest neighbors, including Israel, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. Its only friends in the Middle East are a few terrorist groups and Syria, a nation beset with domestic furor

Size of IRGC: 220,000

Size of Iranian Army :550,000

Size of Hezballah > 30,000

Size of IDF : 176,500

Oh.

So much for that reasoning

These things are true today. They will remain true the day after Iran tests its first nuclear weapon.

What things will change if Iran tests a nuclear weapon? No one knows but many fear the worst. Among others, Atlantic columnist Jeffrey Goldberg has argued that an Iranian nuclear test will set off any number of dire consequences. Some believe that Iran will launch a nuclear war against Israel.

Actually I expect the delivery method will be some beat up old van, driven by a Hezballoid freak. Deniable. ‘They got it from the Wahabbi’s who bought it from the Kazakh’s, and the dog ate my homework’

Goldberg himself insisted that if Iran were to successfully test a nucle

ar weapon, “American power in the Middle East will have been eclipsed” and Iran will have won “a three-decade war for domination of the Middle East.”

Now what was Nasrallah just saying?

And what are we doing BEFORE they have a weapon?

It is instructive to remember the facts of what HAMAS characterized as their immense victory over the zionist entity when Israel withdrew from Gaza.

But is Iran different? Many have argued, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu among them, that Iran is effectively run by a messianic apocalyptic cult which cannot be contained or deterred. There are indeed many ways in which Iran is different than other nuclear powers, the most notable of these being the weakness of its military and the vulnerability of its economy. But the Iranian leadership is by no means the first nuclear aspirant to be branded an apocalyptic cult; the same charges were lobbed, with considerably greater justification, at the Chinese Communist Party under Mao Zedong.

Sorry but the Iranians are NOT the Chinese. Mesbah Yazdi, Khameini and Achmadinejad are not Mao. And the Chinese were officially ATHEIST, nothing for them the day after. The Hojatieh freaks not only beleive they will be bringing about the Mahdi, but if they fail, it’s 72 hot slut chicks and good St. Emilion forever.

There may be some national technical means which Israel could use to make themselves safer, but never safe. However there is little doubt that the corrosive effect of a nearby crazy nuclear power preaching your death for the benefit of God himself as their individual personal responsibility might induce a few people to leave.

And believing that, and having no other choice, and with the inarguable fact of Iran denying one holocaust, and promising another, their having nuclear weapons WILL INDUCE ATTACK.

Or there’s a pretty good chance, it will be the end of Israel. And there is NO ARGUMENT it will be a very different middle east.

That so called elite academia can preach this way in a tortuous path to internally cohesive denial, demonstrates that common sense cannot penetrate ivory and that what is needed at Yale, Columbia and more than a few other place are Troublesome Young Men
