New Documentary “We Ride to DC” Blows Lid Off Mainstream Media’s Agenda

On September 11, 2013, bikers from across the country rode into the nation’s capital to honor those who died on 9/11 and to protest the callous Million Muslim March planned for the same day. 
The sight of tens of thousands of bikers rolling through D.C., with American flags waving in tow, was enough to fill even the most jaded Washingtonian with an overwhelming sense of patriotism. And the sound? Well that would get anyone’s attention, right? Everyone except the mainstream media’s, apparently. 
Time and again, this is what grassroots filmmaker Dennis Michael Lynch observed when traveling the nation for his first two films about immigration. Whether it was about jobs and unemployment or border security and amnesty, what Lynch was finding in the field wasn’t matching what the mainstream media were reporting. 
And when it came to covering grassroots protests with thousands of people in attendance, they were nowhere to be found. 
Lynch’s latest film “We Ride to DC” gets to the bottom of this, taking a hard look at how the media has distorted or omitted reporting on Benghazi, abortion, jobs and the economy, illegal immigration, the IRS scandal, elections, the government shutdown, and more. 
Liberal media bias is a crucially important issue everyone should be concerned with. Why? Because as the Media Research Center’s Brent Bozell points out in the film, “How can you have a functioning democracy when the voters don’t have access to truth?” 
The divisive and biased narrative the mainstream media promulgate is hurting our republic. “We Ride to DC” then is a wake-up call to all Americans, reminding them that they need to be a more skeptical news consumer. 
But the film does more than blow the lid off the mainstream media’s agenda—it’s also about giving a voice to the hundreds of thousands of Americans who are still trying to make a difference, the people protesting the Obama administration’s progressive agenda and pattern of lawlessness, despite never making national headlines. 
Admittedly, it’s a bit depressing to watch at times (hey, you’re confronted with irrefutable examples of how the MSM is skewing the news in favor of a liberal agenda, which is directly affecting Americans’ perceptions of the state of the nation and worse, the outcome of elections), but more so, it filled me with a sense of hope for the country. 
The American spirit has not been deflated and that’s proven in the numerous scenes of bikers, truckers, tea partiers, and veterans at protests and events who are taking a stand against the direction this country is heading. 
“We Ride to DC” will light a fire under Americans to take back the country they love. And beyond that, Lynch’s passion and ease with which he connects with Americans of all stars and stripes is refreshing to watch. 
The film is a must-see before the upcoming elections and it’s important that the message is shared far and wide. To this end, Lynch offers two free DVDs with your purchase (for a total of 3) in the hopes that the viewer will pass the video along to friends or family that need to see the truth.

Population Transfer: Obama Delivering 290,000 Illegals To U.S. Homes

The vast majority of 50,000 unaccompanied youths and children who have illegally crossed the Texas border during the last few months have been successfully delivered by federal agencies to their relatives living in the United States, according to a New York Times article. 
A second New York Times article reports revealed that officials have caught an additional 240,000 Central American migrants since April, and are transporting many of them to their destinations throughout the United States. 
The deluge of 290,000 illegals — so far — are exploiting legal loopholes that allow them to get temporary permits to stay in the United States.

By 2045 'The Top Species Will No Longer Be Humans,' And That Could Be A Problem

"Today there's no legislation regarding how much intelligence a machine can have, how interconnected it can be. If that continues, look at the exponential trend. We will reach the singularity in the timeframe most experts predict. From that point on you're going to see that the top species will no longer be humans, but machines." 
These are the words of Louis Del Monte, physicist, entrepreneur, and author of "The Artificial Intelligence Revolution." Del Monte spoke to us over the phone about his thoughts surrounding artificial intelligence and the singularity, an indeterminate point in the future when machine intelligence will outmatch not only your own intelligence, but the world's combined human intelligence too. 
The average estimate for when this will happen is 2040, though Del Monte says it might be as late as 2045. Either way, it's a timeframe of within three decades. 
"It won't be the 'Terminator' scenario, not a war," said Del Monte. "In the early part of the post-singularity world, one scenario is that the machines will seek to turn humans into cyborgs. This is nearly happening now, replacing faulty limbs with artificial parts. 
We'll see the machines as a useful tool. Productivity in business based on automation will be increased dramatically in various countries. In China it doubled, just based on GDP per employee due to use of machines." 
"By the end of this century," he continued, "most of the human race will have become cyborgs [part human, part tech or machine]. The allure will be immortality. Machines will make breakthroughs in medical technology, most of the human race will have more leisure time, and we'll think we've never had it better. 
The concern I'm raising is that the machines will view us as an unpredictable and dangerous species." 
Del Monte believes machines will become self-conscious and have the capabilities to protect themselves. They "might view us the same way we view harmful insects." Humans are a species that "is unstable, creates wars, has weapons to wipe out the world twice over, and makes computer viruses." 
Hardly an appealing roommate. He wrote the book as "a warning." Artificial intelligence is becoming more and more capable, and we're adopting it as quickly as it appears. A pacemaker operation is "quite routine," he said, but "it uses sensors and AI to regulate your heart." 
A 2009 experiment showed that robots can develop the ability to lie to each other. Run at the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems in the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne, Switzerland, the experiment had robots designed to cooperate in finding beneficial resources like energy and avoiding the hazardous ones. 
Shockingly, the robots learned to lie to each other in an attempt to hoard the beneficial resources for themselves. "The implication is that they're also learning self-preservation," Del Monte told us. "Whether or not they're conscious is a moot point."

U.S. Seen as Biggest Oil Producer After Overtaking Saudi Arabia

The U.S. will remain the world’s biggest oil producer this year after overtaking Saudi Arabia and Russia as extraction of energy from shale rock spurs the nation’s economic recovery, Bank of America Corp. said. U.S. production of crude oil, along with liquids separated from natural gas, surpassed all other countries this year with daily output exceeding 11 million barrels in the first quarter, the bank said in a report today. 
The country became the world’s largest natural gas producer in 2010. The International Energy Agency said in June that the U.S. was the biggest producer of oil and natural gas liquids.If the U.S. didn’t have this energy supply, prices at the pump would be completely unaffordable.” 
Oil extraction is soaring at shale formations in Texas and North Dakota as companies split rocks using high-pressure liquid, a process known as hydraulic fracturing, or fracking. The surge in supply combined with restrictions on exporting crude is curbing the price of West Texas Intermediate, America’s oil benchmark. 
The U.S., the world’s largest oil consumer, still imported an average of 7.5 million barrels a day of crude in April, according to the Department of Energy’s statistical arm.

VIDEO, PHOTOS: Violent Muslims Attack Canadian Vigil for Murdered Jewish Schoolboys


REPORT ON DEMONSTRATION AND VIGIL AT PALESTINE HOUSE 
The demonstration and vigil for the 3 slain Israeli Yeshiva students in front of Palestine House resulted in violence and physical injury to several participants. 
Supporters of Palestine House behaving like common street thugs attacked several demonstrators resulting in a street brawl that required significant Police resources to control. 
We are asking anyone who witnessed the event firsthand to write their notes and forward them to our attention. 
Further, we ask anyone who photographed or video-taped the chaotic scene to submit these as well. 
We have been asked to cooperate with the Police by providing such evidence that would assist them in laying criminal charges against the perpetrators. 
As an interesting aside, many residents of the area stated that they are concerned about the presence of Palestine House in their neighbourhood – but have been unable to express their concerns to the proper authorities.

The sarcastic mum-of-three, who has been posting anti-Islamic tweets all week, shared a picture of a red, yellow and green cake with ISIS - the name of the world's most extreme Islamic terrorist group - written on it. 
"Happy Ramadan to the Muslim militia - another juicy cake to help you break the fast. #merrychristmas," she captioned the shot. 
On Wednesday, the blonde mum-of-three tweeted a photo of a gun-shaped cake, under the caption: 
"Following incitement to violence from the new leader of Muslims worldwide here's today's cake to help break the fast." 
Nasty knickers Katie has been on a crusade against the entire Islamic community and their sacred festival of Ramadan since fasting began on Sunday. 
"Ramadan typically brings a spike in violence in Middle East. I get grumpy when I don't eat - but I don't blow things up. Religion of peace?," she tweeted.

Peggy Noonan: Barack Obama's Presidency is "Unprecedented, Dangerous, and Deeply Strange"


I think my wife would say the same thing of my massive manhood, but of course, it has little to do with politics.

I don't know if we sufficiently understand how weird and strange, how historically unparalleled, this presidency has become.
I'm not sure people are noticing the sheer strangeness of how the president is responding to the lack of success around him.... 
In a truly stunning piece in early June, Politico's Carrie Budoff Brown and Jennifer Epstein interviewed many around the president and reported a general feeling that events have left him—well, changed. 
He is "taking fuller advantage of the perquisites of office," such as hosting "star-studded dinners that sometimes go on well past midnight." He travels, leaving the White House more in the first half of 2014 than any other time of his presidency except his re-election year. He enjoys talking to athletes and celebrities, not grubby politicians, even members of his own party. He is above it all. 
On his state trip to Italy in the spring, he asked to spend time with "interesting Italians." They were wealthy, famous. The dinner went for four hours. The next morning his staff were briefing him for a "60 Minutes" interview about Ukraine and health care. "One aide paraphrased Obama's response: 'Just last night I was talking about life and art, big interesting things, and now we're back to the minuscule things on politics.''' 
Minuscule? Politics is his job. 
It is weird to have a president who has given up. So many young journalists diligently covering this White House, especially those for whom it is their first, think what they're seeing is normal. 
It is not. 
It is unprecedented and deeply strange. And, because the world is watching and calculating, unbelievably dangerous.

The awful comics writer has crossed a line again. Now, he's tweeted the following:

Who knew that dismal series was that important to him? Then again, I've got a hunch he doesn't even bother to read it yet predetermined his positions on it. Why can't he just understand that, when you accuse a conservative of "bigotry", you're only doing them an honor?

On a related note, interesting that people like him never accuse others of being "anti-religious", which only proves how bad their education really is.

And what next, will Slott be inciting against 9-11 Families for real? He sure can't use that anti-semitism card now after legitimizing the Koranic verses that say Jews are sons of monkeys and pigs.

If They Do This, It Means War --- Change Contemplated To The Declaration Of Independence?


I would imagine you wouldn't be surprised to learn they are saying we need to institute more tyranny.

This far and no further:
One of the most famous phrases in American history may have had its meaning changed by a wayward drop of ink. According to the scholar Danielle Allen, the National Archive’s copy of the Declaration of Independence has an error—a period right after the phrase “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” 
That period, she says, has caused a “routine but serious misunderstanding” throughout history, thinking that the sentence ends there. In fact, it continues with “instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” 
The difference, she argues, is that “The logic of the sentence moves from the value of individual rights to the importance of government as a tool for protecting those rights. You lose that connection when the period gets added.” 
The errant period apparently does not exist on other copies, including Thomas Jefferson’s rough draft. 
As a result of Allen’s work, the National Archives are considering changes to its online presentation of the Declaration.

This newspaper was at one time owned by Benjamin Franklin and contains the first published announcement of the Declaration of Independence, which appears halfway down the third column of page two. RUSH: Now, I will go out on a limb here, and I will posit the possibility that we may as well accept the fact that the Border Patrol is no longer a Border Patrol in terms of the way they’re being used by the Regime. You could say that the Border Patrol now has been converted into taxpayer-paid coyotes. What does a coyote do? A coyote arranges transit for an illegal of any age from Mexico or anywhere else across the border. They come in packs. They sardine ‘em in vans, you know the drill.
The Border Patrol is escorting these unaccompanied children across the border and connecting them with their so-called relatives who they’ve never met before, exactly what coyotes do. They’re picking up where the Mexican coyotes leave off, literally. This is gonna be a very controversial thing to say, and again, it’s obvious this is what’s happening. But so few people can get their arms around it and believe it that it sounds like, once again, I’m coming up with another bunch of extreme statements. I’m just telling you what’s going on down there. I could not invent this. My mind doesn’t work this way. I could not in any way, shape, manner form be involved.
The only way I could come up with this explanation is to watch it happen. There’s no politics in this analysis that I’m giving you here. I’m just telling you what’s happening, as they say, on the ground. The Border Patrol are meeting illegal aliens at the border. They’re escorting them to their destinations in the US as an added bonus, el freebo. Now, unlike the Mexican coyotes, they are doing it free. Well, not really, because we, the taxpayers, are actually paying them to do this.

"SATIRE" --- Obama to Visit Mosque, Host Muslim Leaders on 4th of July

Apparently this piece is "satire". 

It's not funny. Indeed, it is so unfunny that I did not recognize it as satire. 

Perhaps the humor lies in fooling someone like me.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest announced today that President Obama will be visiting a Washington D.C. area Mosque on the morning of July 4th as a goodwill gesture to Muslim Americans. 
The name and location of the Mosque are currently being withheld for security reasons. 
His announcement to visit a Mosque on the morning of America’s most patriotic holiday will likely add to this criticism. According to Earnest, following his visit to the Mosque, the President will host the traditional White House July 4th cookout. 
Several influential Muslim leaders have been invited to attend the cookout, as a further gesture of goodwill. American Muslim Ahmed Mohamed Usman, who will be attending the cookout, had nothing but praise for President Obama’s decision. 
In an interview this afternoon on NPR, Usman had the following to say: 
“America is supposed to be the land of freedom and of tolerance. Finally we are starting to see this. If America has Christian prayer breakfasts, so must it have breakfasts praying to Mecca. If America is to put the 10 Commandments on display, so must she display the Quran. To be welcomed into the highest office of America to celebrate her birth and independence is an honor and is a step for Muslims in America to begin to establish our rights. President Obama is truly opening the door for Muslims in America.”

Airport security stepped up in Britain over bomb plot fears...How 'Safe' is the staff working at Airports? (Guardian).

Security at UK airports is to be tightened after US officials raised fears about terrorists in Syria and Yemen developing explosives that could be smuggled on to planes.

The Department for Transport (DfT) said on Wednesday night that it would "step up some of our aviation security measures" following the warning from US security chiefs.

US officials told Reuters that security at European airports would be increased following intelligence that al-Qaida operatives in Syria and Yemen had joined forces to develop bombs that would avoid detection and bring down aircraft.

The US did not specify which airports or countries would be affected, nor did it say what triggered the extra precautions.

The US department of homeland security said "enhanced security measures" would be implemented in the next few days at "certain overseas airports with direct flights into the United States". 

The department secretary, Jeh Johnson, said: "We are sharing recent and relevant information with our foreign allies and are consulting the aviation industry." 

US intelligence believes extremists in Syria and Yemen have been in contact to develop bombs that escape heightened security measures, although they do not have specific intelligence about an imminent attack or specific plot emanating from the suspected collaboration.

Some in the US intelligence community also believe that "training complexes" have been set up in Syria for western jihadists so they can return to their home countries better trained to carry out attacks.

While that conclusion is the subject of debate, it shows the level of fear counter-terrorism officials have about the threat posed by violent jihadists from Syria – now considered to be the main one facing the west.

Intelligence is reported to suggest bomb makers from Yemen-based al-Qaida in the Arabian peninsula (AQAP) have travelled to Syria to meet al-Qaida-affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra to work on ways to get an explosive device past existing security.Read the full story here.

Hmmmm.....I've said it before and i'll say it again, in my point of view the WEAKEST link is the staff working all over airports.

If you see the number of would be jihadis that left for Syria then what's stopping one or more Islamic staff members at European airports to Aid or organise an explosive device on a plane?

If you take in account the drugs that are smuggled by airport staff the possibility becomes very real. Time to rethink the safety procedures.

A conservative friend of mine asked me the other day why congressional Republicans had failed to offer amnesty to Lois Lerner in exchange for her testimony. What that fails to recognize is that she is already immunized, by an administration, a Department of Justice, and a mainstream media that have her back. She’d get nothing better from a congressional immunity, and what she’d lose is the support of the most powerful people in America. That has to be a no-brainer. Nothing indeed will happen to her, and provided she doesn’t rat anyone out she’ll soon be lionized as one who was unfairly persecuted. We’ll see well-paying lectureships, law-school chairs, ambassadorships offered her. Wait and see.
For her many years of service to the Democratic party, she deserves it all. Sure, she did splendid work in torpedoing the Tea Party, but her efforts to criminalize conservatism go back years, and one of them came to light very recently. In 1996 Al Salvi ran for the U.S. Senate in Illinois against Dick Durbin. Salvi had contributed $1.1 million of his own money to the campaign, as he had every right to do. The Federal Election Commission objected, however, and Salvi found himself talking to an FEC official. “Promise me you’ll never run for office again,” he was told, “and we’ll drop the case.” The official was Lois Lerner.
We wouldn’t be seeing any of this in the America of the recent past.

Unbelievable EPA Memo

Forget toxic waste dumps, the Environmental Protection Agency apparently has a more immediate cleanup problem in its own backyard: An employee defecating in the hallway.

GovernmentExecutive.com, the government's business news daily and key website for federal managers and executives, reported Wednesday that the EPA management for Region 8 in Denver sent an e-mail earlier this month to staff pleading to stop inappropriate bathroom behavior, including defecating in the hallway.

In the e-mail, obtained by Government Executive, Deputy Regional Administrator Howard Cantor noted "several incidents" in the building, including clogging the toilets with paper towels and "an individual placing feces in the hallway" outside the restroom.

"Management is taking this situation very seriously and will take whatever actions are necessary to identify and prosecute these individuals," Cantor wrote.
What is the salary of the defecating employee? The benefits package?

CBR's Carla Hoffman lives in a bubble era

CBR's Carla Hoffman wrote a gushing take on the Muslim Ms. Marvel series, trying to convince us this is worth the trees that were cut down to make the paper for printing it on. She begins with:
Ms. Marvel #5 is the most important comic of the current era. Wait, I got ahead of myself.
No, she's way behind. Fawning over a religious propaganda product at the flick of a switch, all without proving she's done any research of the Koran and Hadith. What makes this the most important book of this era, but not a graphic novel like The Forgotten Man, based on the writings of Amity Shlaes? Or maybe she's just too cowardly to admit it's got some worth to it?
Comics have distinct eras that you can recognize simply by flipping through an issue. Whether it’s the artwork, subject matter, costume design or the overall presentation, fans can get an idea of when the book came out, and who its intended audience is. It’s one of the reasons I have a hard time recommending older first issues to new readers; X-Men #1 is going to seem weird to someone who has never read any X-Men, whether it’s due to the silted language and design of the original or the ’90s posing and over-lettered pages of the Claremont/Lee version. It can seem really dated for new readers, and can completely color a generation of fans’ expectations of what comics should “really be like.” This is my only explanation for the extreme Jim Lee-ness of the New 52 costume designs.
In that case, what's her explanation for the pathetic artwork in Ms. Marvel? Or the forced denial that honor murders and stonings of adulterers do happen under Islam? Or the fact that in a very short time, this too will be old as a rusty Edsel? I think her argument she can't recommend older books to newer readers is laughable; history can give something to learn from, yet she acts like age is a problem. In that case, I guess early Garfield comic strips pose one too?

Funny why she brings up the early 90s X-Men books, because that's when the series began rolling downhill story-wise, though Scott Lobdell and Fabian Nicieza were the ones who really took it there with few redeeming features. Why should she cite those but not some of the better stuff from older times like Bronze Age Avengers, or New Teen Titans, or even Mike Baron's Nexus and Badger?
With this is mind, trying to peg the overall theme of the current era of comics is still a little tricky. Do we use the movies as an example of how future generations will view the medium? Will Civil War and Identity Crisis, with their adult themes, be how the early 2000s are remembered? Do we have Brian Michael Bendis to thank for the voice of this modern era?
As a matter of fact, we do, though Joe Quesada and Dan DiDio are guilty too for hiring such terrible writers. In fact, they precipitated the path to comics stuffed with leftism like this current item. As for Civil War and Identity Crisis, I'm afraid they will be how the early to mid-2000s are remembered, and in a very bad way, mainly because those miniseries aren't "adult" so much as they're obnoxious fanfiction with political metaphors stuffed inside.
This brings me back to my cause this week: I would like Ms. Marvel #5 to be the bar by which the current era is measured. This comic does so much right, and is so absolutely inspiring, that I want to see followers, imitators and an entire generation of fans who will expect this level of quality in their comics in the days to come. Did I get ahead of myself again? Let me catch you up.
Again, no, she did not get ahead, only way behind. There's so much untold, and so much taqqiya in the book, that anyone who wants this to represent gold standards would only beclown themselves as she does herself.

For those of you who might have passed this by or have been living under a rock for the past few months, Ms. Marvel is about Kamala Khan, a New Jersey teenager. Due to the “Infinity,” event, she’s been super-powered by the Terrigen Mists and given shapeshifting abilities. Inspired to do good by her favorite hero, Captain Marvel, she helps friends and fights bad guys but is still looking for direction in her life. There are family hijinks and even some culture shock.

Representations of other cultures and nationalities in mainstream American superhero comics typically have been a little awkward and shallow (see Chris Claremont’s fondness for peppering dialogue with expressions like “Unglaublich” or “Begorrah”). Different ethnicities have been so easily, and so regularly, fumbled that we’ve become accustomed to it. But in Ms. Marvel, the portrayal feels less like culture shock and more like a cultural comparison as Kamala’s problems and lifestyle don’t exactly revolve around her heritage, but rather who she is and becomes spins off from it. Her family is a lot like mine — they just have a different motivation. Not fitting in is the root of Kamala’s teen woes, but being Muslim is merely a new flower on this common problem. She’s inspired not by representation but by success. Nothing is pigeonholed, so everything is relatable to one extent or another. Kamala’s problems could be yours.
But they're not. They're just examples of victimology and taqqiya. As a result, how can this book be any better than some of the older efforts she speaks of, yet the only one she actually uses is Claremont's X-Men, which is actually much too easy? The irony is that there are some things in the book that could irk Muslims too, and already, some did voice disapproval, but Hoffman doesn't seem very concerned.
Ms. Marvel #5 completes Kamala’s origin and first story arc. Previously, a friend’s brother got caught up in some crimes, and Kamala sets off her to rescue him but, surprisingly, fails. It’s a big deal. When people talk about “grit” in their comics, I think they’re trying to talk about honesty; it’s not the darker coloring and style that makes gritty comics, it’s washing off the cartoon gloss with some reality sandpaper to make the story seem more realistic to the reader. The idea that a teenager who just got superpowers can’t run in an save a friend from other teenagers in a basement is pretty realistic. Kamala goes home and gets yelled at by her mother, but also receives a pep talk from her father that is some of the most beautiful writing between father and daughter I’ve read in a long time. This is also a big deal, as pep talks from father figures are a more male hero trope than female; most girls have to go it alone or defy their parents and break from the norm and become someone society doesn’t expect them to be. Kamala’s father tells her that she’s perfect just the way she is and doesn’t have to pretend to be someone else to be loved by her family.
Umm, how is a book that won't be honest and transparent about Islam "honest"? Please, do tell us about it. And how curious she thinks it's realistic to be such a failure in a sci-fi world. It sounds more to me like Wilson is insulting the lead character, even if she later manages to save the friend (though I'm not sure what from). I'm also wondering if the mother's depiction as a yeller while the father is depicted sympathetically is also deliberate? Besides, there have been some examples in past history of female leads conversing with their parents for ideas how to work things out.

I believe Hoffman is praising this book deliberately - that is, she's not being altruistic - and besides, this is the same person who claimed Warner Huston knew nothing about superhero comics.
That spurs Kamala into a training montage with her best friend to learn about her powers so she can try again. Hard work pays off as she ponders some philosophy to psych herself up for her second try. The idea that good isn’t something you are, it’s something you do and that the place where you are right now was circled on a map for you (which I think should be attributed to Hāfez rather than Rumi, but I could be wrong) are poetically inspiring to both Kamala and the reader. It’s less a selfish motivation (I’m going to be the best) and more a reflection of destiny.
Look who's talking about selfishness. Maybe she should look at much of the modern Marvel contributor's list for a change, and even herself. Anyone could write a story like she describes and do it without stuffing Islamism into the tale.
It’s a destiny that still takes hard work, but one that pays off, because with a little more grounding and dedication, Kamala not only saves her friend’s brother, but gains a confidence we can believe in. We saw her fail, and we were with her as she picked herself up; now, with her success, we know she’s capable of whatever she sets her mind to. Is Kamala perfect? Heck no. As she says herself, “This is Jersey City. We talk loud, we walk fast and we don’t take any disrespect.” She has her faults, but you know. Don’t mess. The first five issue complete her first journey, and we readers can see the long road ahead.
I wonder if Hoffman recognizes she's got faults, like favoratism and failure to prove her ability to do some research? Ditto the writer of the book she's fawning over, and the editors. A better query would be: is Hoffman perfect? Not with the way she's going about this.
This book is important. I want it to be the blueprint for future heroic orgins to work from. I want fans who clamor for realized female characters in comics to hold up this issue and support the work being done here. The artwork is magical; some of the manga-like stylings can take getting used to, but for such an imaginative setting and style I can’t see any other artist in Adrian Alphona’s place. G. Willow Wilson’s writing is so heartfelt, it’s difficult not to fall in love with such a unique and personable character as Kamala Khan.
Keep going and stay classy. From some of her past interviews, Wilson sounds like a very ill-informed, disrespectful person, unwilling to be transparent about her ideology, and as for Hoffman, she sounds little different from most of the other charlatans working for CBR. What's so "realized" about this book that isn't so realized about most other books with female leads? And the artwork is dismal and childish. Pseudo-manga art is one of the things that brought down mainstream superhero comics, as artists went out of their way to mimic manga where it doesn't belong.
In another decade or so, it would do my heart good to think this is the kind of story that came out of the 2010s and is the standard the era is judged by.
If the era is to be judged by books like this, it won't be for good reasons. No, it'll be judged for bad ones, like pushing propaganda under the guise of "storytelling", something Hoffman fails to recognize. How come this book is to be considered a "good" standard, but not something like The Forgotten Man? Hoffman fails to explain clearly why Ms. Marvel Muslim makes for the greatest tales of this generation, but not stories that avoid injecting ideologies and obvious leftist politics for the sake of it. I think there's a case to be made that so-called reviewing on sites like CBR is not the standard we'd want comics criticism and opinion-making to be judged by, in this or any other era.
