Kasich as Trump's VP?

It wouldn't  be a bad choice. Kasich can deliver Ohio. We saw that. And he has one every single election he ran for.

Is Trump warming to Kasich as his running mate after the last debate?

If Donald Trump manages to win the Republican presidential nomination (and this is becoming less of an “if” with each passing day), then he must select a vice-presidential running mate. Surely it will be tough for The Donald to share the national ticket with anyone, but at least he will still be on top.
With this decision potentially on the horizon, did Trump spontaneously drop a hint about who could be on his veep short-list during Thursday night’s Republican debate?
The answer is yes.

And Kasich would attract a lot of liberals

I think it's a smart play for Trump. Especially if kasich throws his 66 delegates to Trump. Might put him over the top.

Both Kasich and Trump attract Liberals.

It looks like my prediction of last night might turn out to be correct:

My prediction: Very soon, Trump will announce Kasich is his running mate. Rumor will have it, it was a GOP-brokered decision.

Megyn : "Gov Kasich when did you give up the idea of free trade and agree to the deportation of 11 million people, and a wall which which halt all immigration? How did Mr. Trump convince you to adopt these policies?"

Maddow: "When did you become a shill for fascist power in order for you th have more power?"

Tim Russert's Ghost: "Governor, you said 'nope,no way' (plays tape), and it seemed to everyone that this indicated a large amount of personal animosity both towards Mr. Trump, and hos most important policy issues. How did you rectiy your personal views and feelings so that you could accept this?"

Hannity : "Governor I keep hearing rumors that this was the plan all along, and Mr. Trump will never survive his first term. How can you assure the American people that the GOPe, the banks, the TBTF businesses and enemies foreign and domestic all of whom would benefit from no Trump, will not succeed?"

I think Ohio voted for Kasich to deprive Trump of Ohio's delegates. Kasich does not have support in Ohio from conservatives. Media will say he does, which will turn off dems and moderates (Trumps crossover votes). Based on my anecdotes and signage across the state: Remove Trump, Cruz would have won Ohio.

That's not what the polls showed in the weeks leading up to the primary.
