That ‘debate’

It’s always so uplifting to see s presidential debate fire itself off with LITERALLY a schvantz measuring meme.

I learned NOTHING last night .

I have not watched a single debate. And yet, I would bet I am much more knowledgeable about the candidates than the average voter.

It wasn't a debate, it was FOX news's desperate attempt to take out Trump. That part was pretty apparent and seems to, for now, not have worked very well.

Trump did look a little tired and beaten though.

I made the mistake of watching the debate a little and came out disgusted with Robotio and Cruz even more. And obviously Trump still hasn't learned how to effectively answer a question without going on the defensive thinking every one is trying to murder you (which to be honest I can't really fault him for that all that much).

Yes, indeed. All too obvious.

I'm not sure that Trump looked beaten. I think that he's realized how committed the Party's management and "the conservative media" are to derailing anyone who is not the Party management's choice.

And one more thing...

I think that Rubio hurt himself last night. He grins too damn much. Like a little schoolboy who is the pain in the ass of the classroom.

Totally agree. Also him calling Trump "big Donald" and then right away realizing what he'd stepped into didn't make it any better for him. Robotio doesn't come across as very bright and last night he probably hurt his chances way more than if he had just said nothing but repeated his name once every second through out the debate.

There were only two guys I would vote for on the stage last night: Kasich, and Trump by default. Kasich would never beat the morally crippled Dem candidate. Lots of doubts about Trump, but definitely less than with Rubio or Cruz. I find both despicable.

Still .... Trump is a big question mark. But seeing the effort both the left and the right are making to take him off ... just that makes him my candidate.

Charles Martel

That's kind of how I think about it too. The more they hate him, the more I believe he is a threat to some evil machinations they must have going on behind the scenes.

I'm not sure if you followed the presidential race in Argentina this past year Charles Martel but the reason I think Trump is the perfect guy for America is because we have Macri. He's by no means perfect (far from it). But he's the best we have and the perfect guy for right now (mano dura).

The campaign being run against Trump right now is just a dirtier version of the campaign run against Macri by Scioli and Frente Para la Victoria. Everyone including Cambiemos supporters thought Macri was weak and kept changing his positions (even though he didn't) because that's what the people running against him kept telling people. In the end he won by only a point and a half (in the runoff elections) when he should have won by 7-10.

With all these attacks people wondered why he kept running and his one and only response was "Amo este pais" (I love this country).

That is what Trump is about. He genuinely loves the US. And lots of people keep accusing him of changing at the drop of a hat but he actually has held these same positions since at least 1988, listen to the interviews, not that hard to find them on Youtube.

Anyway, he's flawed, not the perfect guy under normal circumstances but his imperfections are exactly what's needed to fix the mess the US is in.

If I were a US citizen I would vote for him in a heart beat. Faster than I made up my mind about Macri.

Fully agree Nicoenarg. I did follow the campaign and its aftermath. Macri does not have it easy, and neither will Trump. But at least people in Argentina began to have hope again. The cynicism that permeated Argentine society for decades is the same we can see here now. Except I believe it is worse here because Americans believed in their Constitutional Republic. We in Argentina knew since the ´50s what reality was all about. Corruption and populism: a recipe for disaster. We learned the hard way, and so are people starting to realize in the US, except those who are on the take. Just like in Argentina, those who survive without working thanks to government hand outs will never accept change, and the longer it takes to force the adjustment, the harder it will be to change.
I´m also starting to believe that Trump is the only option. Kasich will never be elected, and the two Cuban boys, are just that. Too green yet to become president. Although as I said before, after BHO, any of us could perform at least more honestly than him. LOL

Interesting to see how many are forced into the same channel as I am.

I hate this, but here we are.

NICO,
Could you write something on Macri for us, or point us to something we could post on Macri to help others understand the Trump phenomenon?

Pasto,

Almost everything in the Western media on Macri is negative because no one wanted a "right wing" politician to win. I'll have to write something up. I'll do it as soon as I can.
