TRUMP FIRES COMEY

From AP:
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump abruptly fired FBI Director James Comey Tuesday, ousting the nation's top law enforcement official in the midst of an investigation into whether Trump's campaign had ties to Russia's election meddling.
In a letter to Comey, Trump said the firing was necessary to restore "public trust and confidence" in the FBI. Comey has come under intense scrutiny in recent months for his role in an investigation into Democrat Hillary Clinton's email practices, including a pair of letters he sent to Congress on the matter in the closing days of last year's election.
Trump made no mention of Comey's role in the Clinton investigation. But the president did assert that Comey informed him "on three separate occasions that I am not under investigation."
The White House said the search for a new FBI director was beginning immediately. Tuesday's stunning announcement came shortly after the FBI corrected a sentence in Comey's sworn testimony on Capitol Hill last week.
Comey told lawmakers that Huma Abedin, a top aide to Hillary Clinton, had sent "hundreds and thousands" of emails to her husband's laptop, including some with classified information.
On Tuesday, the FBI said in a two-page letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee that only "a small number" of the thousands of emails found on the laptop had been forwarded there while most had simply been backed up from electronic devices.
Most of the email chains on the laptop containing classified information were not the result of forwarding, the FBI said.

Yeah. But this was so obvious.

Pasto, please clarify. Obvious because he should have been fired after the Hillary debacle, or because he is being fired now when Trump is being investigated?

To me, it's just obvious he should have been fired after Hillary/Huma/Weiner, and the Dossier.

I don't think Comey is even corrupt so much as he is just a pussy on a grand scale.

The guy is at best a political shape shifter. Not what is needed at the top of the preeminent federal law enforcement agency.

This should have happened 30 minutes after inauguration. After Comey's speech, (we were on the way to a family gathering ...many of whom are D's in MASS) HRC should have at least faced a prosecution on misdemeanor charges. Not ONE person (including all the D's) could understand why she was not charged. The only reason I can imagine is that the FBI under NO circumstances wanted to be influencing an election, in order to protect against one day some rogue agent doing so.

Of course when he PUBLICLY reopened the investigation that went out the window and should have caused his immediate termination on ~Jan 20.

There is no proof of any CRIME in any Russian collusion. NOTHING. This is not a sat nite massacre .. or anything REMOTELY approaching

What we have is a mystery as to what the proximate cause is for the firing, because I personally don't buy the reasons given. This is a 'we decided this guy had to go for x,y,z reasons and he provided us a cause in his testimony'

I agree he had to go.

Upon further review ... I have the reason and the moment Trump would have made up his mind to fire this guy... when Comey said under oath there was no evidence that the President and/or his transition/election team was being 'wiretapped', when it was OBVIOUS to any thinking person that Trump given more than 140 characters certainly was talking about SURREPTITIOUS ELECTRONIC OBSERVATION.

Comey's statement that there was no evidence of wiretapping falls somewhere among obtuse, misleading and a LIE (you know JUST LIKE CLAPPER, who remains under calls for perjury prosecution)

Until people like Clapper, Kocksuckinman, Lerner, Hillary, Huma, and Weiner, start going to prison for their crimes, I will have no confidence in our government.

The prison thing is almost as important as the Wall to me.
