U.S. government posts $182 billion surplus in April

From Reuters:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government had a $182 billion budget surplus in April, confounding market expectations for a deficit, according to Treasury Department data released on Wednesday. The budget surplus was $106 billion in April 2016, according to Treasury's monthly budget statement. The fiscal 2017 year-to-date deficit was $344 billion compared with $353 billion in the same period of fiscal 2016.

NBD. It's called April the 15th.

Yes, but the surplus is $76 billion bigger than last year. That's about 40% growth. And they were expecting a deficit.

That's all in the post. Did you read it?

Cool. I didn't read that. Shame on me.

No big deal.

I didn't know if you were an IBA/Trump hater or what?

Honestly, I still wouldn't make too much of these numbers. They are essentially Obama numbers still. Trump has even begun an economic plan. I do believe things are getting just a little better since Trump came in, simply because businessmen believe in Trump, but if he fails to deliver on his economic promises (new budget, a real repeal of Obamacare, and the wall) the real economy is not going to change.
