Gasoline Prices Prediction

From this source:
Gasoline prices could approach $5 a gallon by Memorial Day and stay a record levels for much of the summer, according to a forecast by GasBuddy.com.

Gas prices always spike in the summer, but the 2012 Gasbuddy.com Price Outlook predicts this summer will break records.

“It looks like it might be the most painful year at the pump that we have ever seen,” senior analyst Patrick DeHaan said....
If the above materializes, Barack Hussein Obama will feel the pain at the ballot box. And the rest of us will feel the pain in our wallets as the cost of goods soars.

Obama's Solution To High Gas Prices

With thanks to Stogie of Saberpoint for the graphic:

Stogie's post is HERE.

Get ready for America's economy to hit the skids and squeeze us all until our belly buttons rub against our backbones (gasoline prices now higher as the excerpt below is dated April 21, 2011)...

Wedge Between The United States And Saudi Arabia?

With a hat tip to Mark Alexander of A New Dark Age Is Dawning, citing the Miami Herald:
The United States and Saudi Arabia — whose conflicted relationship has survived oil shocks, the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and the U.S. invasion of Iraq — are drifting apart faster than at any time in recent history, according to diplomats, analysts and former U.S. officials.

The breach, punctuated by a series of tense diplomatic incidents in the past two weeks, could have profound implications for the U.S. role in the Middle East, even as President Barack Obama juggles major Arab upheavals from Libya to Yemen.

The Saudi monarchy, which itself has been loathe to introduce democratic reforms, watched with deepening alarm as the White House backed Arab opposition movements and helped nudge from power former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, another long-time U.S. ally, according to U.S. and Arab officials.

That alarm turned to horror when the Obama administration demanded that the Saudi-backed monarchy of Bahrain negotiate with protesters representing the country's majority Shiite Muslim population. To Saudi Arabia's Sunni rulers, Bahrain's Shiites are a proxy for Shiite Iran, its historic adversary.

In a speech Sunday in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal, a former ambassador to Washington, said the Gulf countries now must look after their own security — a role played exclusively by the United States since the 1979 fall of the Shah of Iran....
What will happen if Saudi gets really pissed off and persuades OPEC to no longer accept U.S. dollars as payment for oil?

They call it DRILLING, Barry, DRILLING

  1. New Mexico - NATURAL GAS

Thousands in NM without natural gas service
With tens of thousands of people across New Mexico without natural gas service, Gov. Susana Martinez on Thursday declared a state of emergency, ordered government offices be shut down Friday and urged schools to “strongly consider” remaining closed for the day.
Demand has soared because of extremely cold weather across the state since Tuesday. New Mexico Gas Company said rolling blackouts in West Texas also impeded the delivery of natural gas to New Mexico. Martinez declared a state of emergency for the entire state, urging residents to turn down their thermostats, bundle up and shut off appliances they don’t need for the next 24 hours. She later announced all state operations not providing critical services would be closed Friday to decrease the strain on energy resources throughout New Mexico.
  2. TEXAS - NATURAL GAS

Borderland Residents Asked To Limit Use Of Natural Gas Posted: 5:06 pm MST February 3, 2011 Texas Gas Service is continuing to experience natural gas pressure challenges in certain neighborhoods due to low pressure in pipes associated with the weather events. The company is asking for voluntary closures of commercial facilities that have a high volume of gas usage in an effort to be able to service residential customers. If you experienced a natural gas outage do not attempt to turn on the gas meter on your own. Texas Gas Service crews are aware of meters that have been turned off and will respond as necessary to restore service. When the gas comes back on residents must ensure that the pilot lights are re-lit to prevent accumulation of natural gas. Residents should also check the pilot lights on the stoves, heaters, water heaters and any other natural gas appliance.
  3. TEXAS - ELECTRICITY

Day 3: Power losses acutely felt by El Pasoans Three days after Arctic weather blasted the region, hundreds of thousands of electricity customers continue to face periodic blackouts, and nearly 900 gas customers still have no heat. The bigger problem: The utilities can’t say when the problems will be fixed. Utility officials say their companies are working feverishly to remedy and repair problems, but government leaders and residents clearly were frustrated on Thursday with the utilities’ lack of progress and inability to get the city moving again. The utilities asked area schools and the city and county governments to stay closed for the third straight day today as El Paso Electric tried to repair local generators and Texas Gas Service tried to muster enough pressure to reach the outskirts of El Paso. The schools and the County Courthouse will be closed, and City Hall will open for a shortened day with its heat turned down.

Obama Administration Delays Accepting Foreign Help For BP Oil Spill

From Gateway Pundit:
As the Gulf Coast shores continue to be coated with crude, the Obama Administration has only accepted assistance from 5 countries out of 28 who offered to assist the US with the cleanup.
BHO is too busy golfing and attending baseball games to tend to business in the Oval Office.

See the chart and more information at Gateway Pundit. Note that all the countries offering assistance expect reimbursement.

Does Obama Have A Clue...

...as to how much economic damage his ban on offshore oil drilling can cause?

From Yid With Lid:
According to the Wood Mackenzie Research and Consulting show the six month moratorium will result in the following consequences:
* The 33 drilling platforms which support some 1,400 workers, offshore and onshore will be forced to shut down

* As many as 46,200 jobs could be idled by the moratorium

* These are well-paying jobs – $5-10 million per month, per platform in lost wages

* Long-term job losses as a result of the moratorium could reach 120,000 by 2014

* The State of Louisiana estimates that the deep-water drilling suspension will result in a loss of 3,000-6,000 in-state jobs in the first 2-3 weeks and potentially more than 20,000 Louisiana jobs within the next 12-18 months. Louisiana estimates that if the suspension of deep-water drilling activity continues for long period, the state could lose more than $20,000 in the next 12-18 months.
Furthermore:
[P]reventing offshore oil exploration makes the US more dependent on foreign oil and reduces state revenue during a time when states have an “over-spending” problem...
As Yid With Lid commented:
So if his freeze is hurting the economy why is the President going ahead with the freeze? I submit to you that he doesn't know what else to do. The president has been running the country be finding scape goats. During the porkulus it was the likes of Rush Limbaugh, for cap and trade it was big oil, then the health care bill came up and it was those evil insurance companies followed by those big bad banks. This is a president who doesn't know how to lead only knows how to tear things down. Now the evil ones are BP, Big Oil, off shore drilling and anyone who thinks global warming is a fraud. This president does not know how to lead, to build a consensus, to get people behind a program, sadly all he knows how to do, is to create barriers and call people names.
The Obama administration is an epic fail. Can America survive this failure?

So, why aren't our leaders hopping to it and freeing us from the shackles of OPEC?
