Ethiopian forces launch counterattack in Somalia, Jihad Watch, December 24, 2006.

MOGADISHU, Somalia - Ethiopia launched an attack Sunday on Somalia's powerful Islamic movement, sending fighter jets across the border and bombarding several towns in a major escalation of the violence that threatens to engulf the Horn of Africa.

"After too much patience, the Ethiopian government has taken a self-defensive measure and has begun counterattacking the aggressive extremist forces of the (Islamic council) and foreign terrorist groups," said Ethiopia's foreign affairs spokesman, Solomon Abebe.
Here's hoping Ethiopia doesn't have an equivalent of Israel's Olmert at the helm, making them cease fire before the jihadi threat is eradicated. Wish them luck! If they succeed, they could set an example for others to follow.

No Dhimmitude has a good article relating to Ethiopia.
Thanks, it sure is interesting!
On reflection, I'm quite sad at the feelings I have about this. I'm speaking of my feeling of hope and encouragement when hearing of the Ethiopian expedition. You know what it means? It means we've reached such a gloomy state of fallen expectations from our dhimmified governments and leaders--Israel's withdrawal from Lebanon last summer, Bush's failure in Iraq, Thailand's installation of a Muslim PM for negotiating the conflict on its south, Pope Benedict's insufficient forcefulness in engaging Islam, and the rest of all those deficiencies of non-Muslim will--that we look on to any event, any fight, any show of anti-dhimmitude, as a light at the end of the tunnel.
These are depressing times. I believe we will win, for we are on the side of what is good and true, while the enemy has nothing to power it except its covenant with death, but still, it's maddening to look up to something each time only to have that hope dashed by the "realist" insanity of the appeasement-minded. It's always darkest before the dawn, we must keep saying to ourselves, and continue doing whatever we can to wake up the world.
Good night all.
It's horrible to feel like you almost have to hope for a confrontation because the longer it is put off the worse it will be when it does happen. All we can do is try to wake people up and do our best to educate them and be there with the information when they finally yank their heads out of their butts and want to know what is really going on.
