The Bush administration has rejected the return of the U.S. military to Somalia. But the administration has found a willing subcontractor: Ethiopia.
Western diplomatic sources said the U.S. intelligence community has been working with Ethiopia in its drive against the Al Qaida-aligned militia in Somalia. The United States has promised to replenish equipment, munitions and other supplies for the current offensive against Somalia."The U.S. does not have the troops to threaten Al Qaida in Somalia," a diplomat said. "But Ethiopia has the numbers and the interests to stop an Al Qaida regime. Washington has been quietly helping Ethiopia, although the big payback will come later on after the dust settles."
The source said the administration has used Israel to help coordinate Ethiopia's military needs in the current offensive against Somalia. Israel has long been a quiet but reliable military ally of Ethiopia and has supplied unmanned aerial vehicles and other systems to the African state.
There are other ways to do this thing besides american troops, and allies without moral equivalence and willing to do whatever it takes to survive are alive.

PC has forced the USA to employ an "African, third-world" proxy to do its job. It's gone better than doing it themselves or using Israel for that, but the useful idiots of Islam in the West can find the usual fault unhindered (1, 2).
Its amazing how they can spin a story: "Somali: New Hotbed of Anti-Americanism". Aside from the fact that what anti-American sentiment that exists in Somalia is hardly new-- this reports only one side of the story.
The article could also have been titled something like this: "Ethiopia-- New African Bastion of Pro-American Sentiment". Heh.
But that wouldn't fit their political bias.
As an Ethiopian; I would like to point out the people in the picture above are most certainly not Ethiopian troops but Somalies.
Apparently ethiopian troops were in Somali uniforms...according to AP...and given Jamail Hussein tussle, you may turn out to be right
