Storm Track Appeasement: Islam and the Silence of the Libs

The appeasing mind – read the ‘liberal mind’ – is hard to fathom. Since liberals feel and don’t think, it’s difficult to come up with a rational explanation for their ‘progressive’ positions. I used to talk about values vs value systems to my students and the difference between the two. One may hold many values but a person’s system of those values – a value system – can be wrought with inconstancies.

Case in point. Some Christians value the example of Jesus Christ – the Prince of Peace. Yet, there are those Christians many years ago who chanted ‘Kill a commie for Christ’. A very odd inconsistency. Here’s another. Liberals value affordable merchandise for their mostly lower and lower middleclass constituency. They don’t want their constituents ripped off by big corporations. That is one of the reasons they are against corporations.

Enter Wal-Mart. It provides affordable food and merchandise yet Liberals are waging a never ending war on Wal-Mart. Which value does the Progressive Liberal choose to pursue? The one against big corporations, of course and constituents be dammed.

No more is this clash of values in a liberal’s value system more evident then in women’s rights. In the West, women’s rights are defended in every area of social intercourse - only as long as it doesn’t interfere with the Liberal’s multicultural values. Women rights are defended as long as it doesn’t violate their defense of multiculturalism.

The perfect example of this is Islam. Why? Because they are the perfect victim and Liberals love victims. In fact, their constituents are classed as victims and need to be protected from (fill in the blank). Seton Motley writes:

The global left and the global Caliphatic movement fulfill a reciprocative symbiotic need; the former is in perpetual search for the next mascot to champion, another shibboleth to shake at a Western culture they revel in but revile. The latter, in search of our ultimate end, is more than happy to be but the latest to fill that bill. ……The left has also long been domestically practicing its victimology craft. To cite but one exemplar, we have our inner cities. In reality, these rollicking train wrecks are the legacy of the liberal welfare state; as the recently late, tremendously great Milton Friedman noted, when you pay people to be poor, you will get a whole lot more poor people. But according to the causes with a cause, these tacit war zones have been strip mined as a result of the inherent racism and prejudices of America’s “Haves,” exploiting their economic and cultural advantages to keep down the ghettoed “Have Nots.”

No matter where one turns, no matter how many self-incurred wounds one finds, there will always be one more liberal racing to the fore to dismiss the culpability that should attend the damage done (and thereby again postpone any hope that these tragic talismans will extricate themselves from their concentric hell; why rectify when one can instead justify?). Fidel Castro murders and tortures his populace, and renders a Caribbean paradise 90 miles to our south a floating jail, but it is all totally dandy with liberals because the islanders have health care and rice steamers.

Note the choice of Liberal values and the inconsistency of the value system.
