Allah will send a tidal wave to destroy America in 2007 as punishment for the arrogance of its leaders, according to a new interpretation of the Koran by an anti-American Palestinian scholar.
Ziad Silwadi, a little-known Koranic scholar from the West Bank, said the holy book predicts that the United States will be engulfed by a huge wave that will dwarf the Boxing Day tsunami.
"The tsunami waves are a minor rehearsal in comparison with what awaits the US in 2007,'' the researcher concluded in his study. "A great sin will cause a huge flood in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans."
