Iran's intelligence minister charges U.S. organizing 'terrorist' acts
Whether or not this is true, I hope THEY believe this stuff
NICOSIA -- GERTZ— Iran officials said unidentified insurgents intended to attack an Iranian province along the border with Iraq. They said Iranian authorities captured the plotters."Iranian intelligence agents, in their latest operation, have prevented a terrorist act by an anti-revolutionary group," Iranian Intelligence Minister Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeie said. "They were aiming to carry out a terrorist act in the south of the Khuzestan province, but were arrested before conducting any action."
Officials said the intelligence community has assessed that Iran would continue to be targeted by Western-supported insurgents.
They said the United States has been organizing Sunni and Kurdish operatives to attack strategic sites in Iran.
Is this the excuse for the leaflets dropped this week? Of course THEY dismissed
In 2005 and 2006, Kurds and Arabs revolted in oil-rich Khuzestan. At the time, Iran said Britain was supporting and encouraging attacks in the provincial capital of Ahvaz.
A mirror of the Eastern Province of KSA, eh, where Shia predominate and have been oppressed for centuries? We all know how all that works out in the end.
On Aug. 7, Ejeie said Iranian intelligence has been monitoring insurgency plots financed by the West. He said the United States, particularly Vice President Richard Cheney, was organizing the Iranian opposition.
