What Mahmoud gained from today was the vision among the uninformed, underinformed, wishful thinking, ostrich like, can't face the music and dance audience worldwide was the legitimacy of, at what used to be accorded the status of really elite, a platform from which to lecture all who would be interested in listening to him 'tell us how it is'.
That this is now clearly a perception we can see from the attention showered on it.

This worldwide audience will be and feel enhanced once again for his 'standing up to the USA' which was enough to make Hassan 'let the jews all gather in one place' Nasrallah the most popular man in the middle east, thus informing us that the most important message in the middle east and in the muslim world, sunni or shia, is racist, and anti american.
That is what was delivered to day at Columbia. That is what will be seen and understood. This is what Bollinger et al made possible and real. This is what they breathed life into.
That this was done to enhance Columbia's market appeal I have no doubt. That the mistake was recognized I have no doubt either, having seen Dr. Bollinger's 'petty dictator' comment. But there is no making up for the fact that this platform was given, not for Jeffersonian, Lincoln-Douglas purposes, but for money and endowments. And that Columbia in the perceived exchange for this gave advantage to a Holocaust denying, racist, extermination minded, ignorant, American killing, nuke craving extremist Islamist, Khomeinist, Hojatieh freak is unforgivable.
No reasonable exchange was possible. None could have been expected. If I know this, how could Coatsworth and Bollinger have failed to.

I haven't seen the news all day long. But friends of mine tell me that Ahmadinejad has been doing his antics at Columbia University.
What in the world? Why is he even allowed to speak there?
His appearance at Columbia University has been justified by the left as "freedom of speech." Yeah, right.
The dhimmitude is stunning. And certain of the ummah will see his appearance at a Western university as proof of the will of Allah.
As you can tell, I'm depressed over today's scenario.

Epa, your continued coverage is really astounding. This is such a travesty. I am really, truly shocked that the guy hasn't been attacked by Iranians who have moved here, honestly! This is like Castro showing up within driving distance of Miami in the US! The Iranian and Cuban refugee communities in the US actually have quite a bit in common. I'm just surprised that some of that angst hasn't landed right on Mahmoody-pants. Hell, I think he should be arrested for his continued execution of minors now that he's off his own soil.

Well, Sweden doesn't have a colonial history, its political establishment is among the most anti-Israeli in Europe and Swedish media have always been critical of US policies. Muslim immigration to the country has created the worst rape wave in Scandinavian history (which was indirectly blamed on global warming by the nation's largest newspaper some weeks ago), and the authorities have more or less abandoned their third largest city, Malmö, to Muslim gangs.
In short: It is hardly humanly possible to appease and grovel for Muslims more than Sweden has done, yet for some strange reason, Muslims don't get less aggressive because of this. On the contrary. Maybe there is a lesson to be learned here somewhere? "
