Seriously, though, it IS a wonderful picture.
I was thinking the same thing. I don't like that there are no women warriors in the picture. And you, AOW, should definitely be represented.
In my mind, when I think about the IBA warriors, and I imagine this image, there are women too: Archers with deadly aim.

I have a friend who is 80 years old and he still goes bow-hunting all the time. He climbs trees, hides with his bow and brings down Elk.

Do you think we ought to replace the Vlad the Impaler pic with this?
I really like this picture, but I like the Vlad pick too.

I don't know. I will have to read more about Vlad the Impaler. I like both of the images also.
I have heard that Blogger now has a new feature: You can put a poll in the sidebar, and allow your readers to vote on anything you choose. Maybe this would be a good one to vote on.

Okay, I just read a little about Vlad the Impaler, and he is very appropriate symbol for the IBA. Especially the part that says, "As Prince, he led an independent policy in relation to the Ottoman Empire, and in Romania he is best remembered as a prince with a deep sense of justice and a defender of Wallachia against Ottoman expansionism. His impact on the expansion of the Ottoman Empire is recognizable in that his successful hold against them bought precious time for Western Europe."
He was brutal. He learned how to beat the Muslims from the Muslims themselves.

One of the things I like about the picture is the feeling of ALLIANCE. The feeling of joined forces, of unity against an enemy, of comrades-in-arms defending the Realm from a brutal enemy.
The warriors in the picture look strong, ready, and united. They look aligned in their purpose and willing to engage.
In my own world, I sometimes feel I am the only one who recognizes the danger. But then I come to IBA and know I am not alone.
I have the picture on my desktop. I see it when I get online, and when I sign off. I like the way I feel when I look at it and think about you, my fellow vanguards.
