Gateway Pundit says it may be true.
Anti-Mullah has more background information.
Mr. Trita Parsi seems to be an Islamic Republic lobbyst. He is not an American. He is an Iranian, with Swedish citizenship, and yet he started an organization called the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC).
Below you will find a video featuring Trita Parsi speaking to the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and being introduced by Representative Barbara Lee. (Barbara Lee is, of course, the politician who gained national attention in 2001 as the only member of congress to vote "No" on the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists (AUMF).)
In this video, Trita Parsi makes it clear he is opposed to the Bush Administration making "tactical maneuvers" in order to "strengthen the drive for sanctions."
This guy is a master wordsmith (read Taqiyya). He praises the Bush Administration, and then accuses them of using a war-first approach, and then criticizes legitimate policy as being part of that war-first approach.
Here is another interview from the BBC which makes it very clear that Trita Parsi opposes sanctions, and favors "diplomacy" as a solution, "talking without preconditions."
Those are his words. Watch it.
