ANNOUNCEMENT: Calling All British and French Infidels, Post Your Videos Here

Yesterday, we ran the story that the UK government has decided that taking photographs of the police could be considered a crime

They don't want you to film them, because they don't want you to catch them failing at their job of protecting you the citizen.

This video is an example of what the police do not want you to see.

First, let us be clear, this attempt to stop you from filming things which happen in the public square is a clear violation of your Free Speech.

One of the primary reasons Freedom of Speech exists, and needs to exist, is to provide the people with a counterbalance to the powers which mediate the daily life of a society; religion, government, media, and security forces.

Any power which is deemed beyond criticism becomes an unchecked power, which is then able to rob Freedom from the people in any way it sees fit.

The police are an extension of the government and are, therefore, servants of the people, not the other way around. The police, no matter what they say - whether they claim that they must not be photographed for their own protection, or whatever - are employed at the behest of the citizenry, and are therefore subject to the criticism of the citizenry.

Simply put, you are the boss of the police, the police are not the boss of you, unless you are legitimately committing a crime, and ultimately that's for the courts to decide.

This being said, it is true that if the government in the UK, or France, makes it illegal to film policemen, then many citizens will be afraid to post their videos and photographs in a public forum.

But, here's the thing, this blog is an America-based website. It is not illegal for us to post these videos. If you have footage you want the world to see, let us know in the comments section. We'll work it out, and you keep your privacy.

The first job of the government is to protect it's citizenry by enforcing the laws of the country. When our governments decide they want to cover up the fact that they aren't doing their job, it becomes our responsibility as Free men to hold the government responsible to do their job.

We the people will win in this war, whether our current governments want to go along with us, or not.

There could be something more sinister here

The MSM where not reporting that a few days ago The police where using mounted police to intimidate the strikers.

"We are getting repeated reports of workers at other big energy-related plants and construction sites saying that if Gordon Brown sticks to his anti-worker, anti-British “no retreat from globalisation” line and refuses to take the protesters seriously, then they will come out too.

“The use of more than 60 mounted riot police to try to intimidate us was a bad move by the Government,” one group of Total refinery workers told a BNP observer this morning. “They must have known full well that we’re peaceful and intend to remain peaceful. Our problem is with the bosses exploiting foreign labour, rather than with the foreign workers themselves. Bringing in riot cops to make out that we’re about to go on the rampage is typical Labour spin and lies.”

Workers are also angry at the pro-immigration, out-of-touch internationalism of many left-wing union leaders."

In 2000 when the last popular uprising occurred in Britain (fuel tax protests), the Internet was a minority interest and the blogosphere and Broadband were insignificant. Youtube didn't exist.

The BBC, MSM, NuLabour thought-police and Browns Spin Doctors (BSD) have got their work cut out to contain this one!

A valid concern is that the Jihadis take & use other video of first responders etc to learn their tactics, approaches, methods to use against us later.

THAT SAID the authorities need to find a different way to deal with that issue, not shutting down free speech/photography/filming etc. Hell in Britain the gov't is filming everyone in public, why shouldn't the people film back.

Under the pressure of the jobs sellout, the first cracks are appearing in the dam of NuLabour's EUrabian repression.

Soon the dam will give way, releasing the pent-up fury of the British people, not only about employment, but also about Political Correctness, control-freakery, excessive legislation, the nanny state, Islamification, sleaze, thought-crimes, the EUrabian project, micro-management of all aspects of life, the unrelenting bureaucracy and all the other evils this loathsome regime has inflicted upon us

I look forward to a cleansing torrent of purifying righteous anger sweeping all this filth away.

Sharia imposed restrictions on pubs?

"Irresponsible" Pubs to be Shut in the runup to the 2012 Olympics.

recall the Mega Mosque is also planned for the plot of land adjacent to the Olympic stadium.

It's also worth mentioning that there are so many Muslims employed by the British police (remember they have Diversity quotas) that videos of their tactics appearing on YouTube is the least of their worries.

Personally, I believe it's the embarrassment factor of being seen as ineffective that has caused this and they only have themselves to blame. My Dad retired from the Police in the late 90's after 30 years service and always steered me away from the profession because he said it was becoming less of a police force but more of a police bureau. University grads were given senior rank to those who had worked their way up, bean counters dictated policy and look at where it's got us. Victims get a leaflet, criminals get a rehabilitation holiday.

@Anonymous; "I look forward to a cleansing torrent of purifying righteous anger sweeping all this filth away."

I don't think we'll have to wait long, it's in the air.

I remember when the Rodney King verdict came down, I knew there would be rioting. It shocked me that the Police and the government officials in charge of ensuring the public welfare did not know what to expect.

But, the thing is, I was a young man at the time. I was "close to the street". I knew people who knew people.

I'm getting the sense that you are telling me the same thing about modern day Britain. You guys seem to have your ears to the ground. Interesting. I keep hearing the same thing over and over.

Kind of like this (but the players are different now):

Have you thought this through properly ?

How are you planning to protect the privacy of anyone from the UK who submits such a photo or video to your blog ?

The Terrorism Act 2000 has worldwide scope, and the new amendment which comes into force on 16th February carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years and / or an unlimited fine.

That makes it Serious enough to allow the UK Government to ask for the Extradition of anyone who communicates or publishes such videos or photos or names and addresses etc.

58A Eliciting, publishing or communicating information about members of armed forces etc

(1) A person commits an offence who—

(a) elicits or attempts to elicit information about an individual who is or has been—

(i) a member of Her Majesty’s forces,

(ii) a member of any of the intelligence services, or

(iii) a constable,

which is of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, or

(b) publishes or communicates any such information.

(2) It is a defence for a person charged with an offence under this section to prove that they had a reasonable excuse for their action.

Note that this stupid law also includes all former members of the armed forces, police or intelligence services, regardless of whether they have been cashiered for treason or corruption etc., or if they are fantasists or conmen who exaggerate their actual military service, and claim to be SAS heroes etc.

The "reverse burden of proof" defence (i.e. you are not considered to be innocent until proven guilty) is only available to you once you actually end up in court, by which time you may have been threatened with arrest, or have actually been arrested, fingerprinted, photographed and DNA sampled (all of which gets retained by the Police even if you are never charged, or if you are found not guilty in court).

Just being accused of a serious Terrorism offence, regardless of whether you are ever charged or convicted, will mean that you are forever blacklisted on various international terrorism databases.

What precautions will you take to prevent, say, Google, from handing over your details and those of your comment posters, if the UK Government threatens an investigation into such a photo or video ?

Why should anyone post such material or links to it here, rather than , say, at Wikileaks.org or Cryptome.org ?

WatchingThemWatchingUs,
That's a good point.

I guess people ought to post their links at WikiLeaks.

Honestly, I wasn't aware of that site. That's a very good resource.

Thanks.
