President Nicolas Sarkozy dropped an "intellectual bombshell" this week, surprising the nation and touching off waves of protest with his revision of the school curriculum: beginning next fall, he said, every fifth grader will have to learn the life story of one of the 11,000 French children killed by the Nazis in the Holocaust.Read the whole article in the New York Times.
The article says: "Political opponents dismissed the plan as his latest misguided idea, unveiled without reflection or consultation. Some historians argued that the focus on victims could steer attention away from the Vichy government’s collaboration with the Nazis. Still others warned that the plan could backfire, creating resentment among France’s ethnic Arab and African populations if they felt their own histories were getting short shrift."
I don't know this for sure, but I read this paragraph more like this: "Muslims and multiculturalists criticized the plan in every way they could think of that would sound reasonable and plausible. The Muslims and their appeasers gave a subtle, underhanded warning that denying them their holocaust denial would result in uprisings and violence."
I couldn't help but see Sarkozy's plan as a direct opposition to the Muslims' denial of the holocaust. If so, I think it's a victory for our side.

Didn't I hear not too many days ago that our dear m'sieur le président was saying that Arabic is like the best language around, and that everyone should learn it?
So now this. It's obvious he didn't consult anyone before making this pronouncement. He is of partly Jewish ancestry, being descended from the Jews of Thessaloniki, as well as his Hungarian noblemen.
What a curious individual!
They say that the Antichrist, THE not just any, will be Jewish, but that could be anyone with a Jewish mother or even grandmother. The rest of his heredity prepares him for starting from a European power base. I wonder if he will end up being that one, who will play the awful part. It can't happen unless he is acclaimed by the Jews (in Israel) as their "savior" (politicially, of course).
Keep an eye on him.

Yeah and its a significant one at that.

If they think their histories are getting short shrift, I think we can accommodate. We could state from 1066, not with The Battle of Hastings, where 8000 Normans/Anglo Saxons soldiers where killed, but the Muslim riots in Grenada where 4000 civilian Jews where murdered
