Is it really that easy to slide from Nazi to Muslim? Even I have a hard time with it

Fugitive Nazi lived as 'pious Muslim' at Cairo hotel
One of the most wanted Nazi war criminals, Aribert Heim or "Doctor Death," lived for years as a quiet, pious Muslim in a small hotel on the edge of Islamic Cairo, where he was known as Doctor Tarek.

Concealed in the labyrinthine streets of the largest city in Africa and the Middle East, the man wanted for killing hundreds of concentration camp victims with horrific medical experiments found refuge until his death in 1992.

"He was like a giant, not very chatty but he never missed a prayer at the mosque," remembers Gamal Abu Ahmed, who today lives in Dr Death's former room on the sixth floor of the Qasr el-Medina hotel.

When Abu Ahmed is told about the true identity of the former Nazi, as revealed by Germany's ZDF television and the New York Times on Wednesday, the former clothes shop owner does not seem taken aback.

"I knew him when I was 17 years old, I knew that Doctor Tarek, who I saw every day, was German and Muslim, and it never intrigued me," he told AFP.

It was in the Qasr el-Medina hotel, today a run-down building with stairways overflowing with rubbish, that the "butcher of Mauthausen" arrived on the run after converting to Islam and taking the name Tarek Farid Hussein.

"His life was very ordered, exercise in the morning, then prayers at the main Al-Azhar mosque, and long sessions spent reading and writing while sat on a rocking chair," says Abu Ahmed.

He says he doesn't know exactly when Heim got to Cairo, but that the Nazi had good relations with the Doma family, which owned the hotel, and with the manager, a German-speaking former Egyptian soldier called Mohammed Sherif.

More than 100 personal documents that were in the Doma family's possession as well as the testimony of Heim's son Rudiger, led to the unveiling of the true identity of the doctor who had been in hiding since 1962.

Leading Nazi hunter Efraim Zuroff from the Simon Wiesenthal Centre said last July that he believed Heim was still alive and living in either Argentina or Chile.

German public television channel ZDF said in a statement that Heim died of bowel cancer in 1992, citing his son and acquaintances in Cairo.

"He was found dead one day in his bedroom. There were no burial plans when the ambulance came to take his body away and his body was laid to rest in a communal grave," says Abu Ahmed.

Abu Ahmed says that Doctor Tarek's outings in the last 10 years of his life were as rare as the friends who visited him -- none of whom were German despite the fact that several former Nazis settled incognito in Egypt.

"He was very solitary and very pious. He didn't have a full beard, but he was never clean shaven, and always fasted during the holy month of Ramadan."

Born in Austria on June 28, 1914, Heim joined the Nazi party before Germany annexed Austria, when membership of the party was still illegal.

He then became a member of Hitler's elite SS guard in 1940 and, after stints at camps in Buchenwald and Sachsenhausen in Germany, was posted to the infamous Mauthausen camp in Austria.

It was at Mauthausen that he became known as "Doctor Death" after performing sadistic and grotesque medical experiments. Survivors of Mauthausen allege the father of three cut prisoners open, removing their livers, among other things.

His cruelty was such that he has frequently been compared to Josef Mengele, the so-called "Angel of Death" who was a doctor at Auschwitz.

This was reported in the Daily Mail too:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1135927/Nazi-hunters-brand-claims-SS-war-criminal-Albert-Heim-dead-perfect.html

What I liked about the article was the fact that he was living as a pious Muslim was reported and went into a bit of detail about how he never missed prayers etc.

Compare this to the following article by the BBC:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7872790.stm

Not that I'm surprised but all they say is "The TV channel, working with the New York Times newspaper, also said Heim had converted to Islam." - as if it was a side issue!

I left a comment on the Daily Mail website (that probably wont get published) but which asked if the Mail were hinting at the spiritual connection between his belief systems Heim went from and to a la Geert Wilders and kudos to them if they were.

In a word: yes -- and vice versa!

Yes
Ralf Lennart, “Abu Usama el Swede” On the back of his neck is tattooed GBG hooligan, and on the side of it, in wedding-invitation script, ACAB, which stands, of course, for “All coppers are bastards”.

As a youth he was a neo-nazi skinhead, part of a gang who beat an Iranian half to death in a park in Gothenburg; and he is still troubled by the memory of another crime he never got caught for.

But in one of his jails, he converted to Islam, because — he gestured at his teeming head as he explained this — “It fits with what’s up here in my head: that’s how I see the world. There’s nothing vague about it. Islam has answers for everything from A to Z”

He has three children by three different women, and keeps his present wife shut in the bedroom when a film maker comes around.

Obviously, he is unemployed; for the rest of his life the Swedish state will subsidise him while he spends his days talking about Islam with his friend and splicing together Jihadi videos to put up on the internet.

Abdul-Aziz ibn Myatt, (born 1950) - formerly known as David Myatt is a British Muslim and a former neo-nazi.

Before his conversion to Islam in 1998, Myatt was the first leader of the British National Socialist Movement (NSM), and was identified by the British newspaper, The Observer, as the "ideological heavyweight" behind Combat 18.

Following his conversion to Islam, Myatt dissociated himself from nationalism and racialism, and has spoken openly about his contempt for racism ?, and wrote that the only distinction that mattered was that between Muslims and the Unbelievers

Additionally, and subsequently following his conversion, he also became an advocate of Islamic martyrdom operations (Shaheed), expressed support for Osama bin Laden[17], the Taliban, referred to the Holocaust as a "hoax." and supported the killing of 'civilians' or non-combatants

It is far easier to go from nazi to mohammedian than from mohammedian to nazi. I have been and am firmly convinced that true mohammadianism is worse than nazism because of the religious element. While some nazis including Hitler may have believed they were doing the will of 'providence' all true mohammedians firmly believe they act in the interests of allah and thereby are actually doing 'good'. The truth is in my opinion that they are doing the will of allah the moon-demon.

We see that a Nazi can convert to Islam, which basically is not a big step, compared to a Muslim converting away from Islam.

Is it possible for a Nazi to turn his back on Nazism, without becoming a Muslim or socialist.

I saw a documentary (sorry, can't remember where)about him a few months ago. He was among the very worst of the worst.

from: http://investigation.discovery.com/blogs/criminal-report/war_crimes/aribert_heim.html

According to Dr. Zuroff, Heim allegedly committed some of the worst crimes of the Holocaust. For this reason, he is at the top of the Simon Wiesenthal Center's Most Wanted Nazi Criminals list.

Aribert Heim was born on June 28, 1914, in Bad Radkersburg, Austria-Hungary. According to public records, his father was a policeman, whereas his mother was a housewife. Little is known about his early years; however, Heim later became a professional hockey player. It remains unclear when or for how long he played hockey.

At the age of 21, Heim joined the local Nazi party in 1935. During that time, Heim also began to study medicine in Vienna. He continued his studies until 1940, when he joined the Waffen-SS, a group of select soldiers who committed themselves to Nazi ideology and the decimation of the Jewish people.

Heim's ruthlessness reportedly peaked in October 1940, when he was sent to Mauthausen concentration camp to perform medical experiments on Nazi captives. It was there that Heim received the nickname "Dr. Death" because of the manner in which he tortured and murdered hundreds of Jewish prisoners.

According to an account later related by Karl Lotter, a political prisoner who survived the concentration camp, Heim murdered an 18-year-old Jewish man who was being treated at the clinic for foot inflammation. Lotter reported that Heim was more interested in the teenager's fit physical condition. After questioning the man about his life, Heim anesthetized him and cut him open. He then removed the man's kidneys and castrated him before removing his head, which Heim then de-fleshed and used as a paper weight.

"He needed the head because of its perfect teeth," Lotter stated during a 1950 court proceeding. "Of all the camp doctors in Mauthausen, Dr. Heim was the most horrible."

Another witness allegedly reported that Heim once removed the tattooed skin of one of his victims and fashioned it into a seat cover.

In 1941, Heim transferred to Ebensee, a camp near Linz, in Austria. There, he continued to conduct experiments, some of which included the injection of water, gasoline, and poisons directly into his victim's heart. Heim allegedly carried a stopwatch with him and used it to time how long his human subjects would live during the experiments.

Hebrews 12:29 "For our God is a consuming fire." Heim, Mo', and allah will all bow to and be judged by The Almighty. The sobering bright side I guess.
