All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Someone understand the word SOVEREIGN:Taliban warn lawyers against appearing in ‘un-Islamic’ courts
ALPURI: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) warned Shangla district lawyers on Tuesday of serious consequences if they continued to appear in un-Islamic courts (civil and district courts) from today (Wednesday).
Gee, anyone wonder what that means?
"Lawyers are warned through this notice not to appear before civil and district courts," a member of Shangla District Bar Association (SDBA) quoted the letter as saying.
The lawyers have suspended a bar election scheduled for April 30 due to the letter, he said on condition of anonymity.
These would be the same lawyers rioting over the perceived unfairness to the Pakistani supreme court justice? Clearly threats from the Taliban are taken a bit more seriously.
He said the lawyers' association had informed the district police officer and the Shangla district and sessions judge of the warning.
On Tuesday, the Taliban allegedly kidnapped the Puran tehsil naib nazim and four others from Jambal area.
Around 70 armed Taliban have also occupied the basic health unit in the area.
Pakistan is completely screwed.

And when they get their hands on the nukes??
Force Sharia on all of India?
Force US out of Iraq and Afghanistan?
Bomb Israel? (I have no idea of the missle capability of Pakistan).
Should we not now begin to think about disabling Pakistan's nuclear capabilities / launch capabilities? I dunno how that is done, but surely there must be something someone can do other than just watch helplessly as this train barrels down the track??
Is this not an imminent (like over the next few weeks or months) existential threat to at least India? And then to the rest of Asia? Then to Europe and then to the Americas??
I think there is a threat. Today I heard Richard Holbrook, our special envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan, discussing Pakistan on CNN.
He believes the Taliban thrive due to poverty and illiteracy. He wants to send billions to raise the standard of living in Pakistani villages. Talk about your indirect approaches to an imminent threat!
He then said we need to get the message out that we are not against Muslims. He praised his work in fighting for Muslims in Yugoslavia. He said,"see we're pro-Muslim." And he just doesn't get why they don't understand that.
Perhaps more aid will work!! Don't look for decisive action against their nuclear capabilities any time soon.
Oh my gosh. Holbrook seems to have cause and effect confused. Or maybe it is just "opposite day" for him.
The Swat valley was where people went to vacation. It apparently had many villages, where places like schools, music shops, and general goods stores sold things people wanted, including clothing for women that did not resemble body bags.
The Taliban blew up the schools, the music shops, and presumably there is no longer any need for non-body bag female apparel.
Every place those people go is turned into a ravaged hell-hole, resembling a concentration camp.
This is nuts.
Would love to hear what the Indian government is considering behind closed doors.
Yeah - and I assume the nuke controls are resident somewhere within what's left. . .
Anyone seen any chatter from Indian sources? There may be interesting information in non-English language publications.
Unless I am completely TDSing here, I have to believe SOMEONE in the Indian government may be a bit concerned about this, no?
I have a hard time believing that the only demand is going to be for Kashmir.
Or, maybe the Indian government thinks dhimmi is better than dead?
From what I have read about the areas now controlled by the Taliban, they don't "do" dhimmi very well. They seem to prefer to kill people if they cannot run them out.
From 9/1/39 until the Werhmacht let loose in the Ardennes in the spring of 1940, the British and EVERYONE ELSE still could not bring themselves to believe what was happening.
The histories are rife with stories about parties, and shows and a general ostrich celebration.
What are the Indians going to say and do? You don't think there are people like us ringing the bell on deaf ears? Ask yourself, is India capable politically of acting aggressively on their own behalf before the actions they would prevent if they acted?
Democracies only RARELY (Boeotia-Thebes 370 BC, and George Bush) act preemptively. They must respond over the ashes of defeat to give up the life we enjoy to kill and be killed.

Take a look at this map. It shows how much territory the taliban has. There isn't much left for them to take.
