Definition: Pinkwashing is a portmanteau compound word of the words pink and whitewashing. In the context of LGBT rights, it is used to describe a variety of marketing and political strategies aimed at promoting a product or an entity through an appeal to queer-friendliness, primarily by political or social activists.

Columnist Jonathan Capehart at The Washington Post has a rather extraordinary column on the “anti-pinkwashing” near-riot at the Creating Change conference in Chicago on Friday night, January 22.
The column is extraordinary in that it reflects a growing realization even in the mainstream media that the thin line between rabid anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism has been crossed in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement.

"The pinkwashing charge is essential for BDS on U.S. college campuses because BDS has trouble squaring its support for regimes (including Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, not to mention most Arab countries) which abuse and persecute gays with BDS’s attempt to co-opt the progressive movement. Hence, the pinkwashing claim that Israel’s promotion of its gay-friendly policies is actually a greater evil than the abuse heaped on gays in areas controlled by Israel’s enemies."If you want to get a sense of how threatening the anti-Israel crowd was, view this video from a group that appears to support the protest. Imagine yourself in the conference room with hundreds of people screaming just outside the doors and trying to push their way past security. When you finally understand that the goal of Progressives is the destruction of Western Culture everything they do makes perfect sense.
Could you please explain the reason behind that goal? I could never understand it. I know people who call themselves "far left," but they still use all the loop holes available in the tax books, live in expensive houses and drive expenses cars. Obviously they enjoy the American way of life. I'm talking about Americans. Why would they want to destroy it?
These questions are naive and foolish, but it's something that has always bothered me.

There are people who wake up every morning and look at the world, and their place in it, and rage that the world doesn't measure up to their standards of perfection. They could do better. They would prefer to see it all burned to the ground than to have to endure this imperfection one more day. These people become Marxists, progressives, whatever the movement calls itself.
They are egoists, narcissists of the first order. They hate, they have no love, nor any true tolerance, in them.
Look at Obama. He is an exemplar. The man's entire motive force is a seething collection of hatreds, resentments, and grudges. He only wants to settle scores and get even.
Their utopia is always a vague construct. But their means to get there is always the same and easy to understand: destroy the existing order.
To me, it appears as if they are getting their way.
Like the Anonymous commenter who questioned how can they want this, I also am utterly perplexed. But that does not mean that I don't see it happening, or believe what I see.
