A person becomes a liberal when they decide to anchor their personal reality in their emotions and dreams. Thus reality itself becomes malleable and plastic. The collective effect is that liberals seek to enable and sustain their common emotions and dreams by the selection and rejection of aspects of the real world.
So, to your comment that liberals have broken free of all reason, from the moment that the child growing up decided they could remain forever in the world of make-believe, they never had reason. What they have is a mindset that they can use any aspect of the real world to sustain and support the dream world they seek to inhabit.
