Ted Cruz Is A Pod Person

I thought I knew who Ted Cruz was and what he stood for.  There was a time that I wanted him to the be 2016 GOP candidate.

But now?

My prediction: Very soon, Trump will announce Kasich is his running mate. Rumor will have it, it was a GOP-brokered decision.

CNN proclaimed as Trump left the stage, "The GOP has been destroyed tonight." 

And then, they repeated it.   

I appreciate that Trump stated tonight, "America will be great again but it takes the rich. Sorry, but it does." He brings a good balance in discussing corporate inversion, trade, etc. and takes the script away from any remaining Occupy Wall Street idiocy. 

He is also a class act. He placed his campaign manager on the stage. I am sure he did that because of what happened with Michelle Fields. He also had "Hope" (cannot remember her last name) on the stage too. She is an assistant of his, from Texas, and I think she graduated from TCU (Texas Christian University). It has a decent journalism school.   

Trump also referred to journalists as "disgusting people". smile *

What Is The GOP's Agenda?

I find this GOP tantrum revolting. I don't think Trump is the ideal candidate, but who is? A moral deviant like Clinton? An old hippie like Sanders? Guys like Rubio or Cruz who will take money from Satan in order to win? Decent men like Carson or Kasich are not "electable." 

Maybe Trump is what is needed. 

The political elites cannot stomach seeing an outsider kicking their butts. 

Besides, Obama lowered the bar so much that now practically anybody can do a decent job as president. All they need to do is avoid being traitors.

Karl Rove and the rest of the GOP establishment are clapping like seals this morning because Marco Rubio scored in the top-three tier of the Iowa Caucuses.

Marco Rubio is the establishment GOP's anointed one. That's been true since at least October 2015.

The GOP-Establishment Manipulators

Last night, I looked into getting absentee ballots for Mr. AOW and me so that we can vote in the Virginia Primary on March 1, 2016. We were planning to vote for any GOP candidate not approved by the GOP establishment.

For as long as I can remember, here in Virginia we have had open primaries. That is, voters did not have to affirm Party affiliation to vote in primaries.

Lo! What did I see regarding the upcoming Virginia Primary? THIS!

The Republican Party of Virginia has determined that the
following statement shall be a requirement of your participation.

Both Mr. AOW and I are registered as Independents, so we won't be voting in the 2016 Virginia Republican Primary. We've been shut out.

BTW, no such certification is required for the 2016 Democratic Primary here in Virginia.
