Verdonk has backed down- no matter what the outcome of her "investigation" in Ayaan Hirsi Ali's background, she will be awarded her Dutch nationality.
Here's the icing on the cake-
Coincidentally, Verdonk was heavily scrutinized today in a ministers-meeting. Balkenende specifically mentioned the harm Verdonk did to the image of the Netherlands (of the Netherlands not being tolerant, etc.).
