The terrorist threat facing the UK is "very high indeed", Home Secretary John Reid has said. He told the GMTV Sunday Programme the chances of an attempted attack over the Christmas period were "highly likely".
[…]
He said it was important to resolve the issue of Israel and Palestine because it "fuels international terrorism".
He’s the Home Secretary, so he must know what he’s talking about. Right? Right.
From the post Thailand fears Buddhist exodus from Muslim insurgency in south, on Jihad Watch:
The leaflet obtained from security forces was signed by the “Islamic Warriors of Pattani State” and said the south should be Muslim-only.
“This land must be liberated and ruled by Islamic Law. This land does not belong to Thailand,” it said. “This is a land of war that is no different from Palestine and Afghanistan ... Muslims and nonbelievers have to live separately.”
Pay no attention. Those people don’t know the first thing about home security. Besides, they’re only saying it for the sake of their own constituency. And they’re a tiny minority of extremists. Don’t let such things get in the way of the Realism™ of our sagacious diplomats from the days of the Cold War.
