Defining Shari'ah
A short little blurb from this Islamic source:
Linguistically Shari’ah means a watering hole in the desert. In the legal sense Shari’ah refers to: “Everything that Allah revealed to the Prophet [may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him].”Have fun with that, IBA. Lots of possibilities for discussion, I'd say.

Well, I guess that that means Sharia means, first and foremost, killing everyone who rejects Mohammed's message.
No, not at all guys. The Qur'an clearly states, "And your are forbidden to kill any soul with out just cause." and "Allah does not forbide you, with regards to those who are not fighting you, nor kicking you from your homes, to be just and benevolent to them. Indeed, Allah loves the just." Also, the statement of the Prophet, "An be good to all people." and "Avoid the seven major sins......murder." I would like you guys to look at this post on my blog and pray that you will see past the actions of those who have transgressed, not only religious bounds, but humanitarian bound as well.

Three questions:
1) Have you read the whole Koran?
2) Do you know the chronological order of the Koran?
3) Do you know what the word abrogation means?
Until you answer those three questions, we can not even begin to discuss the verses you quote.

Ok, so then, while you may not agree, you know that the accepted method of interpretation of the Koran is that verses that fall later in the chronological order abrogate (take precedence over) the earlier verses.

1. How do you feel about excising the militant portions of the Koran--those later portions? Some Muslims have advocated doing so.
2. Is there room to dispute Uthman?
