An Interesting Thing I Learned At Work Today

Today, a man with whom I work mentioned that his favorite writer is Paulo Coelho. He recommended that I read a book called The Alchemist.

I am a fan of South American writers such as Marquez, Borges, and Neruda, so I took this recommendation seriously.

So tonight I Googled Paulo Coelho to see what I could learn. Here's the Wiki on Mr. Coelho:

Paulo Coelho (IPA[ˈpau̯lu ˈko̯eʎu]) (born August 241947) is a Brazilian lyricist and novelist.

Paulo Coelho was born in Rio de JaneiroBrazil. His father, Pedro, was an engineer, and his mother Lydia was a home-maker.[1] He attended a Jesuit school. As a teenager, Coelho wanted to become a writer. Upon telling his mother this, she responded with "My dear, your father is an engineer. He's a logical, reasonable man with a very clear vision of the world. Do you actually know what it means to be a writer?"[1]

After researching, Coelho concluded that a writer "always wears glasses and never combs his hair" and has a "duty and an obligation never to be understood by his own generation," amongst other things.[1] At 17, Coelho's introversion and opposition to follow a traditional path led to his parents committing him to a mental institution from which he escaped three times before being released at the age of 20.[2][3] Coelho later remarked that "It wasn't that they wanted to hurt me, but they didn't know what to do... They did not do that to destroy me, they did that to save me.

Yes, I have a feeling I am going to love this man's writing.

Europe’s Right is embracing its Jews
Old hatreds fading as nationalists turn anger on Muslims
"A wave of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic rhetoric in Europe is being met by a surprising countertrend: right-wing political factions, including those rooted in Nazism, who have embraced Jews and Israel as “the quintessential guardians of European culture.”

Pasto - his books are all well written internalized voyages of discovery. To be able to tell a story in that way is always interesting, if not(to me) compelling.

ANON - We had to destroy the village in order to save it?

Factions such as this article mentions embrace Israel ONLY because they BELIEVE the arabs claims that Zionism is racism and Israel has whipped the arabs several times, thus IT WORKS.

"Austria’s Freedom Party, founded by former Nazis after the war, has run Jewish candidates, and its website “celebrates Jewish contributions to civilization.

Filip DeWinter, a Flemish nationalist in Belgium, whose party grew out of Flemish Nazism, has praised Jews as law-abiding citizens."

"the far Right has come to love Jews because they now hate Muslims.”

UGH!

Epa,
The racists of Europe believe Israel is an Ethnic Nationalist state, like the states they would create were they to attain power. They would love to enact laws which restrict the autonomy and breeding of people who are not "native" to their individual states.

If the Jews of the world buy this bullshit, they have dug their own grave, sadly.

It seems that every generation, the Adversary devises a new plan to destroy Jews. I have to say, this new one is a work of genius.
