Outta Here! Phils Have Lost Their Voice

This isn't going to mean much to you unless you're a Phillies Fan or your dad was and as a kid you sat with him on the front porch on a warm summer evening, he drinking beer and listening to the distinctive voice of Harry Kalas calling a Phillies game over a transistor radio.

Harry finally hit his own home run. He died today at age 73, after passing out in the booth during pre-game.

Rest in Peace, Harry.
Say hello to Pop for me. He's got a cold Schmidt's waiting for you.

Sorry for your loss.

They were talking about him for a whole hour on sports radio out here in LA.

Oh I didn't know the man personally, but all those summers his voice on the porch radio, Pop drinking Schmidt's Beer, it's almost like a personal loss.

At least he got to call them win one more World Series :)
