Hey MR,

This isn't related to your post at all but I just sent Pastorius this email:

Hey,

I was just talking to someone from my church today and Rifqa's story came up. The guy told me that he knows some influential people in South Florida. It might be too late already but he said he'd be more than willing to help. He knows some police chief or something. I know her trial is today but in case it is postponed or whatever...in case her case stays in florida...he might be able to help. I don;t know.

Is there a way you can forward this to her lawyer or something or is there any way to get this message to her lawyer like RIGHT NOW? Maybe he can delay it.

I don't know if this guy can actually help. He says he knows people. I Would wanna give Rifqa another chance. It might just be postponing the inevitable for her. I don't know.

What do you think?

Do you think there's anything we can do still or is it too late?

I think as far as today goes it's too late UNLESS the judge postpones the decision.

If he decides it will depend on what he decides. He may (likely) send her back to Ohio but that does not necessarily mean back to her family. If he remands to the original jurisdiction Ohio can decide to safeguard her in foster care until THEY make a decision. Whether they do that or not is another matter.

Well, in case a miracle happens (and thats what it'll take), then at least there's someone in power that would be willing to help this girl. It might be too late though, I realize that.

Anyway, sorry about bringing this up here.

Absolutely no reason to apologize for that. Bring it up everywhere.
