Once Again?

Mobs? Thugs? Nazis?

Haven’t we heard our government call protesters of its policies the same before?

Do we hear echoes of the same arrogance from the White House drunk on power once again?

Will the protests of the people be dealt with the same way – once again?

Nah – too far fetched, right?

I think John Lennon's song says it better!!!!!

Gimme Some Truth by John Lennon

I'm sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
Ive had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of hope
Money for dope
Money for rope

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
Money for dope
Money for rope

Im sick to death of seeing things
From tight-lipped, condescending, mamas little chauvinists
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth now

Ive had enough of watching scenes
Of schizophrenic, ego-centric, paranoiac, prima-donnas
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
Its money for dope
Money for rope

Ah, Im sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth now

Ive had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth now

All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth now
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth

The Dems have a short memory. A lot of 60s protest mobs were just that: mobs. Violent, throwing rocks, bottles, bags of excrement, burning the flag and chanting "Ho, Ho, Ho Chi Min". In other words, their people. Burning draft cards was the closest they got to standing up for freedom. If the Obamassiah gets his "civilian defense force" cranked up we may see that again -- turned on us.

A better analogy would be the civil rights marches of the earlier 60s and how they were treated in the South.

My ex and I wouldn't march in 60s anti-war/draft demonstrations because they were 99% aggressively pro-communist and we were libertarian. But we and a couple friends did go down to DC to lobby against the draft. Guess what. Every one of the aides we spoke with told us we were the only people they had seen doing that. The rest were out in the street screaming pro-Vietcong slogans.
