Barack Obama intends to use this trial to kick off international AND national torture trials of Bush administration officials to blacken the republican party as these attackers find themselves in trials in which they both can reject the evidence brought on by water boarding, etc, and publicize their use by direct evidence. They will then, facing some kind of dismissal on the major charges be found guilty under some Al Capone like charge, but the damage will have been done and at the very least men like Dick Cheney and others who served this nation to secure the people themselves will find themselves under international indictment.
The NYT will have headlines and sell papers every day
HuffPo will glorify the results
HRW will be orgasmically screeching
Obama will have fended off political disaster
Paranoia on my part? The only enemy Obama means ill to are those who can do him no harm but political harm.
None of this changes the objective reality. These attackers deserved the fate of Yamamoto. But in custody now, and bereft of any valuable information, they should be left to rot in isolation until the day the war ends (whenever that is determined to have happened) and then brought to trial as was Homma

It's not paranoia at all. And he'll put the city of New York at risk of another attack to do it.
Let's look at some facts: Obama claims to be "Christian" but the only church he attended for 20 years was black nationalist liberationist and headed by a minister who preached hatred of the United States.
Obama was born to a Muslim father, had a Muslim stepfather, received Muslim education as a child and goes out of his way to praise the religion.
Obama is an Alinskyite Marxist with a commitment to changing the US Constitution to conform with the aims of socialism.
What, other than his own self-preservation and that of his family and fellow radicals, and of their continuing political power, would motivate him to resist the Jihad in any way? Put plainly, if there's a way he can do it without being nuked in the Oval Office as "collateral damage" what would motivate Barack HUSSEIN Obama to resist the Isamization of this country in addition to its descent into Socialism?
A year after his election, there is no "give him a chance" excuse left. We know what he is. We're just haggling over the price.
As Giuliani points out, the bill for the increased security will be astronomical. (Just take a look at a map of lower Manhattan with the words "target rich" in mind.) It will, of course, be to the Islamists' benefit to refrain from attacks on the area if the trial is "going well" for them. They can disrupt an important corner of NYC with demonstrations, threats, and false alarms for the duration. And should the verdict not be to their liking?
I agree, Epa. I also think that Obama treating KSM as a common criminal ought to be considered Presidential Treason. We are at war and this guy is one of the Generals of the forces martialed against us.
