Obama's bet

Why are these people who appear to be smart, and ought to be as endowed as we are with survival instincts jumping off a cliff?

Are they delusional about the polls, and the anger and real rage? I don't think so.

Why is Obama betting HIS ENTIRE POLITICAL FUTURE, and that of his movement on this GOOP MELANGE loser of a bill?

THINK....
Today we can't do away with Medicare.
Today we can't do away with Medicaid.
Today we can't even change social security to be a more survivable entity out of fears that a 'good thing' may be lost.

The American public is HOOKED on these programs once they get going.
Someone else besides the active consumer is the one who has to worry about paying up.

What % of people now pay no federal taxes? 40+, right?
What % of people will get GREATER benefits they don't pay for and will be added INCREMENTALLY to the democratic party's dependent roles?
What actions are being taken in immigration reform and who will these voters be beholden to?

Maybe this doesn't hit in 2010, or 2012, or even 2014 ... but that party, and those people are making the bet that EVENTUALLY those hooked on benefits, those TAKING and not PUTTING will be the dominant and permanent majority.

In 'self reliant' hard core 'old new england' Maine, it is ALL BLUE NOW, because without the feds paying it out a valley of tears will have to be crossed before the people can lift themselves up.

THAT is Obama's bet.
THAT is the democratic bet.
Maybe not today's payout, but human nature and takers, LOOTERS will be the majority, and a permanent dependent majority in this nation SOON.

Well within our lifetimes.

Anyone feel like defending that society?
That America?

Take a look in the mirror people. Within the span of our lifetimes, we, our views, our thoughts, our philosophies are going to be the 'Chomsky's' , the 'Zinn's', radical revolutionary thought.

If my surmise is correct, this place is in REAL TROUBLE, and our reasoning, will comprise a thin repository, of a vague remembrance of what this place WAS.

Obama and the dems will have bet human weakness and human nature against the fighting will to ACT, DO, ACHIEVE, ACCOMPLISH.

They will be saying, 'HEY, HAVE ANOTHER HIT of fresh California sunshine', what are you bothering with those demogogic, right wing fringe people for?
