1) On December 15, the House of Representatives passed HR 2194, the Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act, by a vote of 412-12.
2) On January 28, the Senate passed the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act on a unanimous vote.
But instead of moving swiftly to reconcile their similar but not identical bills - after which the final versions could be quickly passed and sent to the President - Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are sitting on the legislation.
Foreign Policy magazine reports that Reid and Pelosi are "waiting for the administration to negotiate a deal at the UN."
