Tillerson Tells Everyone On Earth, Don't Fuck With "The Innocents"

"Put 'em up . . .  Put 'em up!"

Tillerson, meanwhile, used meetings Monday with foreign ministers from the Group of 7 industrialized economies, known as the G7, to try to persuade them to forge a unified response to the situation in Syria.
Russia was kicked out of G7, formerly known as the G8, in 2014, following its controversial annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea region and assistance for pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine.
After meeting with Tillerson, British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said the group was discussing possible sanctions against Russian backers of President Bashar Assad — as part of an effort to push the Kremlin to abandon its support of the Syrian strongman — as well as against Syrian officials.
On Tuesday morning, Tillerson will meet again with various foreign government officials about Syria, including many from Arab nations, before traveling to Moscow to sit down with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Question:

IT SEEMS TO ME TRUMP AND COMPANY HAVE BEEN FAR MORE ARROGANT AND BELLIGERENT THAN GEORGE W. BUSH EVER WAS, EVEN ON HIS WORST DAY.

WHY ARE THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD NOT REVOLTING, MARCHING IN THE STREET,  ACCUSING HIM OF "WAR FOR OIL", AND CALLING HIM TRUMPHITLER?

I THINK IT'S BECAUSE THEY REALLY BELIEVE TRUMP. AND THEY REALLY FEAR HIM.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

That a nice attitude Rex, but the USA does not have the capability to do that, and if we did - what do we do with wherever we saved the innocents who would then be looking to us?

We can make an effort to stop certain egregious and horrendous crimes against people (Clinton has always said his biggest regret was his inaction over Rwanda)

We cannot 'heal the world'

Unfortunately the power to kill the bad guys is not the power to make things right where the bad guys had their way.

Even, in Syria, together with Russia we cannot make it all right. ISIS/AQ/AN may have enough support to have terrorist-warlord anarchy sway in a large portion of that sad place because we cannot and don't want to forever occupy, and have no intention of doing so.

To stop nations from using weapons so terrible they have never been used in combat ..against their own people, is a good thing, and the people of the world ACCEPT that Assad will do and has done that (mass murder by nerve gas). They see OUR action as proper. That's why no one is revolting.

What will not be proper is to go into Syria and tell ourselves and the world THAT is a good thing, because we can't HEAL SYRIA. Maybe we can find someone 5% better for that part of Syria under Alawite control (the rest have been killed since the 70's), give the Kurds a shot, and HOPE that with the help of Sunni nations who CLAIM to be our friends (HAH!) those areas where ISIS now rules can become some kind of stable state.

HOW MONUMENTALLY DIFFICULT A TASK does that sound?
Does anyone believe THAT can be achieved?
Anarchy is SYria except for the Kurds may well be the ultimate outcome and let the Russians see about the bases they have themselves. That's what they worry about anyway.

Will that be better?

Who the fuck knows?
Isolation does not work, but man, this is an argument for it, isn't it?

Yeah. The thing he said is preposterous. And it is laughable.

But the amazing thing to me is the reaction: NOTHING!

Pasto,

Yeah, that's a stunner.

Are we in truly uncharted territory?

Could it be that Trump (via Tillerson) doesn't want to be seen as a Neville Chamberlain?
