Secret Uprising In Saudi Arabia

With a hat tip to Mark Alexander of A New Dark Age Is Dawning and worth your time:

Apparently, these protests have been ongoing for at least three years.

YouTube offers this blurb:
In Saudi Arabia's oil-rich Eastern province a 3-year uprising has been raging, hidden from the world. With unprecedented access, this report explores the growing protest movement - the biggest in Saudi history.

In scenes reminiscent of Libya, Egypt and Bahrain, masked protesters fill the streets, fling rocks and chant "martyrdom is better than oppression" as police bullets fly. In the Shia-dominated Eastern region of Qatif, there has been growing resentment that despite "standing on top of oil fields that feed the world", local communities suffer poverty, sectarian discrimination and no political freedom. Figureheads of the protests have been added to government wanted lists, been arrested and several have been killed in dubious circumstances. Saudi filmmaker Safa Al Ahmad risks arrest and worse to get inside this troubled region. In secret meetings protesters share their accounts of the growing state violence against them and their families. One leader's disabled sister tells of how security forces "came while I was sleeping and threatened me with a gun". The movement insists it is nonetheless growing, but a few incidences of violence by protesters have alienated many locals and given the state justification for their crackdown. After protesters fire on security forces, police funerals are broadcast on public television and the rioters are officially labelled "terrorists". Both sides are now entrenched. "It is very dangerous for the future. The state just want to show the iron fist. The only reaction is apathy or violence."

Obama Preparing To Aid Syrian Rebels?

From the Associated Press:
WASHINGTON (AP) — Moved by the Assad regime’s rapid advance, the Obama administration could decide this week to approve lethal aid for the beleaguered Syrian rebels and will weigh the merits of a less likely move to send in U.S. airpower to enforce a no-fly zone over the civil war-wracked nation, officials said Sunday.
The Arab Spring is part of Obama's vision of a new world order.

World war coming soon? Or will the new world order come about not with a bang, but with a whimper?

More Arab Spring: Music Silenced In Northern Mali

From this November 30, 2012 article in the Washington Post:

In northern Mali, music silenced as Islamists drive out artists

Khaira Arby, one of Africa’s most celebrated musicians, has performed all over the world, but there is one place she cannot visit: her native city of Timbuktu, a place steeped in history and culture but now ruled by religious extremists.

One day, they broke into Arby’s house and destroyed her instruments. Her voice was a threat to Islam, they said, even though one of her most popular songs praised Allah.

“They told my neighbors that if they ever caught me, they would cut my tongue out,” said Arby, sadness etched on her broad face.

Northern Mali, one of the richest reservoirs of music on the continent, is now an artistic wasteland. Hundreds of musicians have fled south to Bamako, the capital, and to other towns and neighboring countries, driven out by hard-liners who have decreed any form of music — save for the tunes set to Koranic verses — as being against their religion.

The exiles describe a shattering of their culture, in which playing music brings lashes with whips, even prison time, and MP3 and cassette players are seized and destroyed.

“We can no longer live like we used to live,” lamented Aminata Wassidie Traore, 36, a singer who fled her village of Dire, near Timbuktu. “The Islamists do not want anyone to sing anymore.”

In Malian society, music anchors every ceremony, from births and circumcisions to weddings and prayers for rains. Village bards known as griots sang traditional songs and poems of the desert, passing down centuries-old tales of empires, heroes and battles, as well as their community’s history. In this manner, memories were preserved from generation to generation, along with ancient African traditions and ways of life....
This kind of destruction is the harvest of the Arab Spring.  Get used to it and expect more of the same.  The West's leaders insist upon Islamophilia and the whitewash of Islam.

Hamas Is Smiling

No damn wonder.

From this analysis at Reuters:
This time is different. The Arab Spring has changed the Middle East, and Hamas has more powerful weapons....
Read the rest HERE. And gag.

Barack Hussein Obama is smiling along with Hamas, of course. He is drooling with anticipation over the coming new world order.

The Line In The Sand

When Obama gave his speech at the United Nations last week, he tried simultaneously to excuse the recent Muslim riots over the YouTube film "Innocence of Muslims," he managed to motivate Egypt and Yemen to draw the proverbial line in the sand.

According to this article in the September 29, 2012 edition of the Washington Post:
...[The presidents of Egypt and Yemen] made it clear that their brands of popularly chosen government do not look like the United States or share all of its values.

“We expect from others, as they expect from us, that they respect our cultural specifics and religious references and not seek to impose concepts or cultures that are unacceptable to us,” Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi told the U.N. gathering Wednesday.

Morsi, on the job three months, told the U.N. that the protests outside the U.S. Embassy in Cairo reflected the legitimate, and decidedly Islamic, voice of Egyptian popular will. And he effectively told Obama he would have to get used to new rules.

“Insults against the prophet of Islam, Muhammad, are not acceptable,” said Morsi, whose political roots lie in the Muslim Brotherhood. “We will not allow anyone to do this by word or by deed.”

In an interview with The Washington Post on Saturday [September 29, 2012], Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi sounded a similar note...
All of Obama's many statements about values that the West shares with the Islam and the glory of the Arab Spring have not gone unnoticed by leaders in the Middle East.  The following, dated September 13, 2012, did not go unnoticed, either:
...Obama administration officials said Thursday that they have asked YouTube to review the video and determine whether it violates the site's terms of service...

Some media observers predict that the incident will prompt calls for Google Inc.'s YouTube to play a more active role in curating the billions of hours of videos found on its site. One prominent 1st Amendment lawyer even suggested that YouTube should seek a judge's ruling about whether to remove potentially incendiary content.
Also, let us recall Obama's Cairo speech in June of 2009.  What message did that speech actually send?

Muslims are committed to what they believe and act on what they believe. Can we say the same for the West's commitment to freedom of expression?

Additional reading: "The Anti-Blasphemy, Anti-First-Amendment President" by Diana West. Excerpt:
Clearly, this president is not protecting free speech as our founders guaranteed it, and, in fact, he gravely endangers it. Meanwhile, if I choose to write against child rape as condoned under Islamic law with roots in Muhammad’s consummation of a marriage with a 9-year-old – Islamic “slander,” for sure – in what way is the “mutual respect” President Obama calls for even conceivable as an antidote?

Here’s the secret that blasphemy laws are written to smother: Regarding the fundamentals of freedom of conscience, the autonomy of the individual, protection of children and equality of women, Islamic and Western doctrines have nothing in common and are, in fact, at irreconcilable, dagger’s-point odds. Silence – Shariah blasphemy laws – is the Obama-Clinton-OIC Islamic answer. Indeed, in the Shariah-compliant end, silence will replace the questions, too.

But we’re already used to it. Don’t believe me? Afshin Ellian, an Iranian-born Dutch law professor, poet and columnist, puts it this way: “If you cannot say that Islam is a backward religion and that Muhammad is a criminal, then you are living in an Islamic country, my friend, because there you also cannot say such things. I may say Christ was a homosexual and Mary was a prostitute, but apparently I should stay off of Muhammad.”

Gasping Here

I work a heavy schedule on Tuesdays through Thursdays.   Yet, no matter how tired I am or how much "school work" I have to do, every day after I get home from work, I head to the computer to check on the day's news.

Since early Wednesday morning on September 12, I've been reading news stories that take my breath away.

I find it impossible to believe that Obama doesn't understand the significance of what's transpiring in the Middle East right now.

I've come to the conclusion that Obama approves of and wants these events to occur.  In other words, he's doing exactly what he wants to do in the present situation.  I have come to this conclusion after reading THIS a few minutes ago.

His version of the New World Order?

His seeing to it that the West and Western ideals are denigrated and punished because of Western colonialism of Third World countries?

His channeling the dreams from his father?

All three, I think.

Furthermore, in my view, Obama is exhibiting some of the following signs of passive-aggressive behavior:
1. Procrastinates
2. Sulks, becomes irritable or becomes very quickly argumentative
3. Tends to work slowly or deliberately do a bad job on tasks
that he or she really does not want to do
4. Protests (unrealistically) that everyone is making
unreasonable demands
5. "Forgets" obligations
6. Believes that he or she is doing a much better job than others
think
7. Usually resents useful suggestions from others on how to
become more productive
8. Fails to do his or her share of the work, thereby obstructing
other's efforts
9. Unreasonably criticizes people in positions of authority
10. Cannot seem to accept responsibility or blame for problems
resulting from their poor performance and tend to project this
blame on others
I submit, however, that Obama knows exactly what he is doing and is consciously endeavoring to manipulate the situation to his own benefit, namely, the consolidating his own power as well as exacting revenge for colonialism.

The only other possibility that I can offer is that Obama is a Muslim.

Islamophobic Hysteria Becomes Conventional Wisdom

THE ARAB SPRING

By Andrew C. McCarthy

Calling the Arab Spring "radical" once made us Islamophobes. Now even the New York Times agrees.

It’s been quite a week to be the author of The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America.
My book was well received by the public and generously reviewed by some of the conservative press. In what passes for the “mainstream” media, however, it was mostly ignored and otherwise panned as Islamophobic hysteria. This was because the book had two themes that were deeply unpopular:
1. Islamic supremacism is not a fringe ideology, but instead an entirely mainstream interpretation of Islam that is followed by hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide — the dominant Islam of the Middle East, and — whether a majority or a strong plurality — the dynamic Islam in the rest of the world today, including the West. Its chief proponents are the Saudi kingdom and the Muslim Brotherhood (Iran and its satellites compete with a Shiite version that is equally revolutionary, but there are vastly more Sunnis than Shiites). The Brotherhood rightly perceives itself as the intellectual vanguard of a global Islamic mass-movement with a ground-up strategy for Islamizing societies that prioritizes the implementation of sharia.
2. Islamists and Leftists are frequent collaborators. Though their disagreements are several and not trivial (e.g., women’s rights, gay rights, abortion), they are in harmony on basic, big-picture matters. Both ideologies are totalitarian in the sense of wanting centralized control of people’s lives, down to the small details; both elevate the good of the collective (or the ummah) over the individual; both are vigorously anti-capitalist (something most Americans still do not know about Islamist ideology); and neither can succeed in achieving its grand design without suppressing the liberties and self-determinism of the citizen.
On point 2, some objected to my use of the word sabotage in the subtitle. The word is not something I came up with, though. I was quoting an internal Muslim Brotherhoodmemorandum which described the Islamist mission in America as “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within” by means of “sabotage” (to be precise, by “sabotaging” the “miserable house” that is “Western civilization”).
This concept of pretending one’s intentions are benign in order to bore into a society’s institutions and fundamentally to transform them from within mirrors the Alinsky-style community organizing favored by the hard Left. Given that Islamists admit (at least among themselves) that they are committing sabotage, and given their propensity to make common cause with Leftists who employ the same transform-from-within strategy, I do not think there is much merit in this objection to the word sabotage. Put a different way, I think the real objection is that I spotlighted something they would rather keep hidden.

Egypt: Salafi Leader, And Member of Constitutional Committee Declares,Conspiring Against Ruler Is Conspiring Against God

From All Africa:

Salafi (ultraconservative) leader and member of the constituent assembly, tasked with rewriting the constitution, Saeed Abdel Azeem, said that conspiring against Egypt's ruler (President Mohamed Mursi) is equal to conspiring against God.
Describing Egypt's president as the "ruling imam", Abdel Azeem argued that as Mursi may be unable to apply the law of God fully at this point, the nation must overcome political differences and rally behind him.
He added in his Eid speech on Sunday in Alexandria's Shohadaa Square that Egypt will return to being ruled by Islam and Prophet Mohamed's Sunnah and not democracy, socialism or nationalism.
The Salafi politician insisted that all forces must unite in order for God's law to be applied during an era, he described as, "of phenomenons"; where tyrants fall and it is useful to follow those who came before us and not those of modern times.

The Real Arab Spring? Young Egyptian Muslim Destroys His Koran, While Declaring, This is the Real Naqba (Catastrophe)

From American Thinker:
Could this be the real Arab Spring?  This is huge!  The Muslim world does not have to blame Pastor Terry Jones anymore for burning the Quran or non-Muslims for desecrating it.  They are now in shock over seeing a YouTube post of an Egyptian young man doing the unthinkable on camera: tearing up the Quran and putting it in the trash.
This is a summery translation of what he said:
There it is, Allah's book, this is the basic catastrophe. I don't know what day it is of this disgusting month of Ramadan! You are making the tearing of the Quran such a big and dangerous thing.. it is instinctive to tear this book, those sons of ----- think they can threaten me and challenge me to tear the Quran, but I want to proof to them that they are nothing and what is the big deal in tearing this book!! There it is (he starts tearing the Quran) in the trash. Are you feeling better now! You cannot touch a hair in my head! We keep blaming Hamas and Gaza, but it is not them, it is this son of ----- book that I am stepping on right now. That book is the source of all evil and the real catastrophe. There is nothing new here, it is not Omar Abdel Rahman, Abbud or all the others, it is this garbage that is causing us to run in a demonic never-ending circle that will never end.

The young man's worlds were very insulting, but, unfortunately, this is the same language that Muslims commentators of this video use against him and against anyone who leaves Islam.  The comments on this video are extremely violent and scary, and more insulting than anything this young man may have said in the video.  This is the kind of language many Muslims use against any critique of Islam.  I am very worried about this young man, who seems to be living in Egypt.  There are hundreds of fatwas of death issued against him already, and the responses to the video threaten him: "I will kill you" or "I will cut your tongue, your ears, your arms and legs, like Mohammed, and leave you for dead."
Instead of giving religious visas to Islamists who come to build mosques in America and preach hate, the U.S. should immediately declare that anyone who leaves Islam and is threatened will get priority visa to the U.S., ahead of Islamists.  American embassies across the Muslim world should stop giving religious visas, especially to those who are obviously Islamists, because by doing that, we are breeding our own home-grown terrorists inside America.
Throughout the history of Islam, many people were tortured, beheaded, limbs cut, jailed, ostracized -- and for as little as accidentally stepping on the Quran.  The sharia punishment for blasphemy of the Quran and Mohammed is death, even if the perpetrator pleads that it was an accident and that he never meant to desecrate the Quran.  There is a Filipino maid in the Arab Gulf who was jailed for accidentally sitting on a Quran which was on a sofa.  Now the Muslim world is starting to face the nightmare of a new kind of challenge from within: Muslims deliberately challenging this taboo and putting their lives on the line.

Egyptians To Hillary Clinton: "Monica! Monica! Get Out, Clinton!"

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has made her first visit to Egypt since the Arab Spring regime change that ousted Mubarak.

There were taunting chants about Monica Lewinsky directed at Hillary Clinton.

My insights on that, courtesy of my Muslim neighbor in 1999, in a conversation that I'll never forget:

"And that President of yours [meaning Bill Clinton, of course]....He consorted with Monica Lewinsky. THAT JEWESS!"

Information from the above source:
...Tomatoes, shoes and a water bottle were thrown at part of Clinton's motorcade as it pulled up, protected by riot police, although a US official said Clinton's own vehicle was not hit.

The protest appears to have been the result of suspicions that Washington had helped the Muslim Brotherhood win elections in Egypt in the wake of last year's ouster of president Hosni Mubarak after 18 days of massive street protests....

Mali: More Harvest From The Arab Spring

From this July 14, 2012 article in the Boston Globe and along the lines that we here at IBA have been saying for well over a year:
US inadvertently creates a terrorist haven in Mali

...This catastrophe did not “just happen.” It is the direct result of an episode that may at first seem unrelated: the US-led intervention in Libya last year. Rarely in recent times has there been a more vivid example of how such interventions can produce devastating unexpected results....

[...]

This is an emerging crisis that could engage the world for years. A vast region has fallen out of the control of central government and into the hands of violent radicals. They may cause far more death and suffering than Khadafy ever did....
What hath Obama wrought?

I find it impossible to believe that nobody in the Obama administration did not consider the consequences of supporting the Arab Spring.

Muslim Brotherhood Demands Treaty Be Kept

From this source:
US aid to Egypt is guaranteed by the Camp David Accords, and stopping it would be a violation of that treaty, a high-ranking Muslim Brotherhood lawmaker said Sunday.

Essam El-Erian, who also serves as chairman of the Egyptian parliament’s foreign affairs committee, said that should aid from Washington be cut, the Brotherhood would consider changing the terms of Egypt’s 1979 peace treaty with Israel.

[...]

...Last month the US administration announced it would speed up aid to Egypt as the country copes with mounting economic problems during the transition from president Hosni Mubarak’s three-decade term in power.

Congress has already approved $1.3 billion in military aid and $250 million in civilian aid for the current fiscal year. That assistance, however, is conditioned upon Egypt meeting all of its obligations under its peace treaty with Israel....
My prediction: Obama will ignore that last sentence. After all, Obama is Carter on crack.

The Arab Times Are A' Changin'

The truth set to music (hat tip to Brooke):

This time next year, will we see any humor whatsoever in the above?

The Arab Spring In Tunisia

From Jihad Watch:
Tunisia: Muslims besiege university, take hostages to demand face veils, end of mixed classes

...Tunisia's Salafists have become more assertive in recent months, following the revolution that ousted a staunchly secular regime along with president Zine el Abidine Ben Ali in January following mass protests....
Remember this about Tunisia:
Tunisia has relations with both the European Union—with whom it has an association agreement—and the Arab world. Tunisia is also a member of the Arab Maghreb Union, the Arab League and the African Union. Tunisia has established close relations with France in particular, through economic cooperation, industrial modernization, and privatisation programs. The government's approach to the Israel-Palestine conflict has also made it an intermediary in Middle Eastern diplomacy.
Look for the Arab Spring to appear in the West within the next several months as Muslims living in the West more actively seek "the will of Allah." The jihadists are making it plain that they have "found the will of Allah" as the Arab Spring continues to sweep through the Islamic world.

The Arab Spring isn't a movement for freedom. Rather, it's the revival of fundamentalist Islam in places where fundamentalist Islam didn't previously have such strong inroads.
