The Muslim Brotherhood has an agent in the Ohio assembly

Benjamin Baird reminds everybody that the Muslim Brotherhood, which the Trump administration's identified as a terrorist organization, has agents in USA politics, with one disturbing example being a Democrat representative of Columbus, Ohio:

In a highly anticipated move, the Trump administration designated factions of the global Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organizations last month, an executive action with profound implications extending beyond the Middle East to America’s heartland. Astonishingly, a Somali-American legislator from Ohio, State Rep. Munira Abdullahi, D-Columbus, continues to serve as a national leader for the Muslim American Society (MAS), a registered nonprofit that federal prosecutors have identified as the “overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.”

Abdullahi’s involvement with MAS dates back to at least 2012, when she served as a youth director in Columbus and later as a national program director. The organization’s youth programs have been marred by scandals nationwide, including an incident in Philadelphia where children were taught songs about beheading Israeli Jews, and a fundraiser selling merchandise glorifying Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists. Upon her election to public office in 2022, Abdullahi appeared to distance herself from MAS, updating her LinkedIn profile to indicate she no longer worked for the group.

However, her ties persisted and deepened. Now heading MAS-Columbus and part of the organization’s national leadership, she leverages her elected status to host events featuring ultra-conservative preachers and pro-Hamas activists. Though MAS officially claims independence from the broader Sunni Islamist movement, a 2004 Chicago Tribune investigation exposed how its early leaders decided to conceal their Muslim Brotherhood affiliations while aiming to “convert Americans to Islam and elect like-minded Muslims to political office.”

Campaign finance records underscore this connection: in 2022, Abdullahi received a $1,000 contribution from an MAS colleague and later donated $2,400 from her campaign to MAS-Columbus.

I'd written about this Abdullahi myself in the past 4 years, and it's clear she doesn't belong in politics anywhere. It remains to be seen if the Trump administration will take any action against her and other such interlopers who don't belong in the USA or any other civilized country.

Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in France may go back at least 70 years

The French government is looking to ban having girls younger than 15 wear Islamic veils in public, after a chilling report about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration that spans as far back as 70 years:

French President Emmanuel Macron’s political party has called for a ban on young girls wearing Islamic veils in public and a new law against “Islamist entryism” after a bombshell government report found that the Muslim Brotherhood has waged a multi-generational campaign to infiltrate institutions and control Islamic communities in service of instituing Sharia law to the West.

Former French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, who leads President Macron’s Renaissance party in the National Assembly, proposed on Wednesday that the ban on wearing veils in public be extended to girls under the age of 15. France became the first European country to impose such a ban for adults in 2011.

However, Attal argued that the government must go further in the wake of the publication of a government report, which found that the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood has sought for at least seven decades to subvert France and other European nations through clandestinely entering institutions and taking control over various facets of Muslim communities to promote Sharia practices to Islamise the West.

According to the report, the movement has seized upon supposed social justice campaigns through its various Muslim association proxies against “Islamophobia” — a term coined by the Muslim Brotherhood — and the veil ban to create a veneer of legitimacy in public discourse and to rally Muslim communities to their cause.

Meanwhile, local arms of the Brotherhood, in which trained Islamist activists are installed as managers at community shops, sports groups, private education, financial services, dating sites and elsewhere, have been established to control all aspects of life within Islamic communities and enforce strict Muslim practices, such as forcing the veil on women and girls.

The report found that this has resulted in a “massive and visible increase in little girls wearing the veil”, including girls as young as five or six years old, who are described as the “baby lion cubs” of radical Islam in France.

Thus, the Macronist party has called for fresh legislation to make “an offence of coercion to wear the veil against parents who force their minor daughters to wear the veil,” which they argue contravenes gender equality and child protection principles, Le Figaro reports.

While this is important news, it's a terrible shame Macron himself is undermining efforts to enforce safety for youngsters by attacking Israel over its army campaign in Gaza (as are the UK and Canada), because all that does is send a message to Islamofascists that the French government isn't really serious about their objections. Exactly why somebody needs to tell Macron this is just as unacceptable as Islamofascism in France's area too.

“Barack Obama’s mother was living in Kenya with his Arab-African father late in her pregnancy,” it said. “She was not allowed to travel by plane then, so Barack Obama was born there and his mother then took him to Hawaii to register his birth.”

Barack Obama is not a man who tolerates dissent.

Look at what he's doing to Senator Bob Menendez, in the wake of the Senator's criticism of Obama's Iran policy.

That's over criticism of his policy. Imagine how Obama must have felt about Hillary's questioning of the identity as an American, an attack that goes to the very core of his being?

How did this woman get to be Secretary of State under Obama?

Ponder that for a moment?

Could it be Hillary actually had something on Obama with this Birth Certificate thing?

Could it be that Obama actually has something equally damaging on Hillary, say, like Bill Clinton's Pedophile Island vacations (which also conveniently came out recently)?

Can one reasonably imagine any other kind of working arrangement between these two vindictive monomaniacs other than a truce by Mutually Assured Destruction?

Or do you think it is reasonable to say that Obama decided to bury the hatchet with his bitter nemesis, the woman who was willing to question, not only his fitness for office, but his fitness to even call himself an American in the first place?

So yeah, I think it is possible Obama said, "Ok, Hillary, I'll give you what you want, a position of prestige within my Administration that you can use as a springboard towards your election to POTUS in 2016. But you have to play ball with me. You have to pursue my Foreign Policy agenda, and in order to accomplish that agenda, you have to do your job the way I tell you to do your job."

And what was/is Obama's Foreign Policy agenda?

Well, what was Obama's first overseas speech?

It was called "A New Beginning", otherwise known as the Cairo Speech, in which Obama stated:'

I’m proud to carry with me the goodwill of the American people, and a greeting of peace from Muslim communities in my country: Assalaamu alaykum (Applause.) 

I’ve come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition.

Is it crazy to suggest that Obama's primary Foreign Policy goals as President have revolved around creating a bond between America and the Islamic world?

If that is not reasonable, then what is his main Foreign Policy objective?

Well, let's assume I am correct for a minute. We know that Americans do not trust the Islamic world, and why should we? How are we to find common values with nations who espouse Sharia law, who put apostates and gays to death? Who wrap women up in the chains of the Burqa? Who scream for the death of our nation at the drop of a pin?

So how is a President to achieve such a Foreign Policy objective, such a major realignment of the world order, when it goes contrary to the will of the people?

The answer is, he'd have to run a Black Ops Foreign Policy team. He'd have to go dark. He'd have to create a means of back channel communications that would allow him to stay in constant communication with the major players of the Islamic world at all times?

Private Servers anyone?

And if you're Obama, and you're putting Hillary in charge of such an initiative, well, what is Hillary's major asset? Has she ever done Foreign Policy before? No. Does she know the key players that Obama is reaching out to? Iran's Mullahs? The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt? The leaders of Hamas?

No.

So, what does Hillary have?

The answer is Huma Abedin, the daughter of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Daughter of Saleha Mahmood Abedin, a pro-Sharia sociologist with ties to numerous Islamist organizations including the Muslim Brotherhood 

Longtime assistant to Hillary Clinton Wife of former congressman Anthony Weiner 

Longtime former employee of the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs, which shares the Muslim Brotherhood's goal of establishing Islamic supremacy and Sharia Law worldwide 

Her father, Syed Abedin (1928-1993), was an Indian-born scholar who had worked as a visiting professor at Saudi Arabia's King Abdulaziz University in the early Seventies. 

Huma's mother, Saleha Mahmood Abedin, is a sociologist known for her strong advocacy of Sharia Law. A member of the Muslim Sisterhood (i.e., the Muslim Brotherhood's division for women), 

Saleha is also a board member of the International Islamic Council for Dawa and Relief. This pro-Hamas entity is part of the Union of Good, which the U.S. government has formally designated as an international terrorist organization led by the Muslim Brotherhood luminary Yusuf al-Qaradawi.

I believe that, in negotiating their MAD Truce, Obama and Hillary struck upon a working relationship that included Huma Abedin as Hillary's advisor and liaison to the world of the Muslim Brotherhood, and Valerie Jarrett, as Hillary's director for the Iran Initiative.

I think Obama sees the Muslim Brotherhood as being the natural heirs to the Sunni Throne, and the Mullahs of Iran as the natural heirs to the Shia Throne.

I think Obama is an anti-Colonialist, as Dinesh D'Souza theorizes. But he is not merely ANTI-Colonialist. He is sophisticated enough to be for something as well. That is, he is a National Socialist. Or, perhaps better put, he is an Ethnic Nationalist, a person who believes only the indigenous people of a country ought have a say in the national political structure.

I think Obama's vision for the world involves weakening the West (which he sees as a force of oppression and imperialism, militarily, economically, and commercially), while restoring the nation's the West has, to his mind, plundered, to the rule of their natural heirs.

I believe Obama made it clear in the title of his first autobiography that he is pursuing the dream of his father. And what were those dreams?

Barack Obama, Sr. worked under Kenya's elected President Tom Mboya. Tom Mboya was a Pan-Africanist. He believed in Africa for African people, but he did not narrowly define who the African people were. Barack Obama Sr. disagreements with Tom Mboya revolved around the concept of Pan-Africanism vs. what Barack Obama, Sr. saw as a Kenyan Socialism, or National Socialism.

In 1965, Barack Obama, Sr. published a paper entitled "Problems Facing Our Socialism". Here are some excerpts. First he discusses, doing business with those outside the tribe:

It is true that in most African societies the individual had sole right as to the use of land and proceeds from it. He did, however, own it only as a trustee to the clan, tribe or society. He could give it on loan to someone outside the tribe to use, but he had no right to sell it outside the tribe .. How then can there be a conflict of opinion on communal ownership?

Here he is on the Nationalization of Private Enterprise:

There is a statement made on nationalization [in Sessional Paper No. 10]. True there are cases in which nationalization is bad, but there are, likewise, quite a few benefits to be derived from it. On this subject I would like to refer the authors to Prof. Bronferbrenner’s [sic] work on the “Appeals for confiscation in Economic Development”* [sic — the referenced article is titled “The Appeal of Confiscation in Economic Development”]. Nationalization should not be looked at only in terms of profitability alone, but also, or even more, on the benefit to society that such services render and on its importance in terms of public interest ..

And what is that "public interest"? It is the seizing of assets owned by those outside the tribe:

There is also a statement that nationalization will apply to African enterprise. How can we talk of nationalizing African enterprise when such enterprises do not exit? 

If we are going to nationalize, we are going to nationalize what exists and is worth nationalizing. But these are European and Asian enterprises. 

One need not be a Kenyan to note that nearly all commercial enterprises from small shops in River Road to big shops in Government Road and that industries in the Industrial Areas of Nairobi are mostly owned by Asians and Europeans. 

One need not be a Kenyan to note that when one goes to a good restraurant he mostly finds Asians and Europeans, nor has he to be a Kenyan to see that the majority of cars running in Kenya are run by Asians and Europeans. 

How then can we say that we are going to to be indiscriminate in rectifying these imbalances? We have to give the African his place in his own country and we have to give him this economic power if he is going to develop. 

And this means seizing the assets of outsiders, the means of production owned by those who are not "folk" to the country.

Does this sound familiar?

So, back to the point:

Barack Obama is perpetuating the Dreams of His Father.

It is important to understand this if you want to understand his Islamic world policy.

Remember, Obama was heavily instrumental in kicking Mubarak out of power. Obama then helped the Muslim Brotherhood ascend to power, and when they did, he invested heavily in them in Foreign Aid, up to and including military weapons.

At the time, this looked like an investment in Arab Democracy. But my opinion is, to Obama, this was an investment, not in Arab Democracy, but in Islamic Democracy.

(I will explain momentarily.)

Then the people decided they had had enough of the Muslim Brotherhood's pushing of a Sharia agenda. The people agitated for the Muslm Brotherhood to leave.

Did Obama support the will of the people in excising the Muslim Brotherhood?

No, he didn't.

So why was Obama for Arab Democracy in one case, and not in the next?

Why has he become the first President to support Hamas, naming a supporter of Hamas as an adviser, then dropping him for Hamas ties, and then naming him to an even higher position?

Why would Obama support Hamas when they were elected once and for all? Is that Democracy? Could we have expected the Muslim Brotherhood to have behaved any differently? Would it have been reasonable to expect that the Muslim Brotherhood ever would have relinquished power voluntarily? Has any Islamist government ever relinquished power voluntarily? Ever?

No.

But it is the Islamist governments Obama has supported.

When, in 2009, the people of Iran stood up and attempted to rock the streets so hard as to unseat the Mullahs, did Obama stand behind the will of the people to unseat the Islamist government?

No.

Barack Obama does not stand for unseating any Islamist government.

Barack Obama DOES stand for Democratic elections that put an Islamist government in power.

Barack Obama does not stand for the orderly transition of power from an Islamist government to another duly elected government of a predominantly Muslim Arab population.

Barack Obama is, therefore, not an Arabist. He is a Muslim sympathizer, or perhaps, better said, an Islamist sympathizer. He does not believe in Arab Democracy. He believe in Islamist Democracy.

And, by his actions and words, we can see he supports the all-but-permanent installation of Islamist governments once elected.

This is because Barack Obama believes Islamist governments embody the will of the volk; the people of the Arab nations.

The Muslim Brotherhood to the Sunni, the Mullahs to the Shia.

It is not out of weakness that Obama has delegated the fight against ISIS in Iraq to the Mullahs of Iran? Obama sees Iraq as a Shia counterbalance to the Sunni world.

I believe Obama thinks of a stable Middle East as a Middle East where the Sunnis and the Shias both have their own Kingdoms, which can then work out a rapprochement only when the Will of the People are represented by a leader which embodies the sprit of the folk; a Caliphate.

Obama, in essence, is pursuing, not merely an anti-colonialist initiative in the Middle East, but a fully-formed National Socialist vision, complete with a mythological dimension born of Islam.

And, to dovetail back to the beginning, that is what the Private Email Servers are about. Obama can not allow the people of the United States know what is this monomaniacal vision he pursues.

We are the crew, he is Ahab. We will not truly understand the voyage we find ourselves upon, until we are ringed by leviathans, and the White Whale is bearing down on us.

Egypt Pursuing Criminal Charges Against Obama and Hilary For Aiding Muslim Brotherhood?

Is there any truth to this?

President Barack Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took great care of the Muslim Brotherhood while the terrorist group was briefly in charge of Egypt following the Arab Spring. 

Though the group is no longer in power, as they were ousted by the Egyptian military, Egypt hasn’t forgotten the aid and comfort Obama provided the terrorist group during their short reign. Egypt has officially charged both Obama and Clinton with conspiring with the Muslim Brotherhood. 

These serious charges aren’t a stretch, as Obama has been seen protecting the group in various ways, including placing them on a “hands off” list to allow entrance into the United States and even an invite into his own administration. 

While the group controlled Egypt, Obama made sure that they had plenty of weapons, including tanks, light and heavy arms and even planes — to the tune of billions of dollars. 

The Muslim Brotherhood is all about implementing Shariah law in Western countries, and the United States is no exception. They wouldn’t hesitate to harm or kill any Christian or Jew who aren’t willing to accept or share their radical faith. We’ve already seen several examples of Shariah spreading to the West — and it’s only getting worse. 

Egyption lawmakers charged Obama and Clinton in two separate complaints with the conspiracy charge. For the first complaint, Obama was officially named as “an accessory to crimes committed by the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.” 

The charge is serious, with specific details about his accessory role, that said he, “cooperated, incited, and assisted the armed elements of the Muslim Brotherhood in the commission of crimes.” 

The other charge, against Clinton, accuses her of working with Naglaa Mahmood, the wife of the ousted Muslim Brotherhood president Mohammed Morsi, in an attempt to overthrow General Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi, the current leader of Egypt (H/T Western Journalism). 

Mahmood has since admitted that she’s worked closely with the Clintons, dating back to the 1980s — including numerous phone calls between the two since then, hundreds of which she has recorded. 

Perhaps the most serious charge against the two involves their attempted bribe to the tune of $8 billion which was an attempt to sway the Brotherhood to open up part of the Sinai Peninsula to Hamas groups to make it easier to attack Israel.

 After that, all foreigners will be "targeted by the movements of revolutionary retribution."

Remember, Obama met with Muslim Brotherhood leaders just a few days ago:

A senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood was recently hosted at the White House for a meeting with President Barack Obama, prompting an outcry from critics of the global Islamist organization. 

Anas Altikriti, a top British lobbyist for the Muslim Brotherhood whose father heads Iraq’s Muslim Brotherhood party, recently met with the president and Vice President Joe Biden as part of a delegation discussing problems in Iraq. 

Altikriti, whose work has also been tied to Hamas, can be seen smiling in photos published by the White House as he stands next to Iraqi Parliament Speaker Usama al-Nujaifi, who is pictured shaking hands with President Obama in the White House’s Roosevelt Room. The meeting was first highlighted by the blog Harry’s Place.

One must wonder if there is some level of coordination going on.

U.S State Department Meeting With Muslim Brotherhood, Plotting to Overthrow Pro-Christian Egyptian President Al-Sisi

In the past week, Al-Sisi became the first Egyptian President to attend Coptic Christmas services.

He has also spoken repeatedly of the need for a reformation of Islam, castigating Islam for creating a climate of violence and intimidation throughout the world.

But, Obama's State Department is huddling with Muslim Brotherhood leaders who oppose al-Sisi's leadership.

It is no secret the Muslim Brotherhood wants to overthrow Sisi and establish a Sharia state in Egypt.

This is outright treason on the part of Obama and his Administration.

The State Department hosted a delegation of Muslim Brotherhood-aligned leaders this week for a meeting about their ongoing efforts to oppose the current government of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt, who rose to power following the overthrow of Mohamed Morsi, an ally of the Brotherhood, in 2013. 

One member of the delegation, a Brotherhood-aligned judge in Egypt, posed for a picture while at Foggy Bottom in which he held up the Islamic group’s notorious four-finger Rabia symbol, according to his Facebook page. 

That delegation member, Waleed Sharaby, is a secretary-general of the Egyptian Revolutionary Council and a spokesman for Judges for Egypt, a group reported to have close ties to the Brotherhood. 

The delegation also includes Gamal Heshmat, a leading member of the Brotherhood, and Abdel Mawgoud al-Dardery, a Brotherhood member who served as a parliamentarian from Luxor.

INTERPOL Issues Arrest Warrant for Yusuf al-Qaradawi, Head of Muslim Brotherhood

Interpol issued a bulletin Friday seeking the arrest of the Muslim Brotherhood's most influential cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi. 

The bulletin was sparse on details but said that Egypt wanted the 88-year-old Qaradawi "to serve a sentence" for crimes including "incitement and assistance to commit intentional murder." 

Qaradawi lives in Qatar. He also is alleged to have had a hand in a massive prison break of Brotherhood members and others during the revolution against then-dictator Hosni Mubarak. 

Mohamed Morsi, a Brotherhood official who went on to become Egypt's president in 2012, was among those who escaped. Qaradawi has been a fierce critic of Egypt's new government and of Morsi's July 2013 ouster after one year in office. 

"From the day he (new President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi) came, all we saw is killing and bloodshed, detention and women being raped," Qaradawi before elections in May. 

In February, Egyptian officials demanded that Qatar extradite Qaradawi. They also asked Interpol to arrest Qaradawi a year ago. 

Qaradawi described the recent acquittal of ousted Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak as "the saddest day in the history of human justice and a disgrace on Egyptian judiciary." 

According to the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch, Interpol issued a "red notice" which is both its highest level alert, and a move subject to later review by the international police agency.

Nagla Mahmoud, Morsi’s wife, is reportedly angry at some statements recently made by Hillary Clinton, including that Morsi was “naïve” and “unfit for Egypt’s presidency,” as reported by Arabic media.

Since the army ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July, hundreds of his supporters and Badie himself have already been sentenced to death in speedy mass trials that have sparked international outrage.

On September 12 2001, the day we started our efforts to understand and monitor the Global Muslim Brotherhood, we could never in our darkest imagination have possibly considered that the White House of the United States  would be used to host a meeting with a close associate of Global Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi.

Yet, as we posted earlier, we woke up yesterday to discover that Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, a close associate of Qaradawi, had recently visited the White House, possibly carrying a letter from Qaradawi, where he met with senior White House officials and representatives of other government agencies including an aide to President Obama and US OIC Envoy Rashad Hussain. 

How exactly had things progressed so far that the White House was meeting with a representative of an organization that once called for attacks on US troops in Iraq and whose leader has spewed forth vile anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism, not to mention sitting together on a board with a Saudi who in turn is close to groups supporting both Hamas and Al Qaeda? 

Although the meeting at the White House with Sheikh Bin Bayyah was a shock, even to us, in retrospect it should not have been given that everything the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch and its predecessor publication has reported over the years.

While space and time unfortunately do not permit a complete analysis of how these things have come to pass, it is instructive to note that the Obama Administration’s policy toward the Global Muslim Brotherhood has evolved over two distinct, but related tracks. Israeli analyst Barry Rubin has adroitly summarized the foreign policy track, a US alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood which he labels the “Obama Doctrine”:

Here is what I wrote in October 2010. The leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Muhammad al-Badi, had just given a sermon calling for the overthrow of Egypt’s government, which happened four months later, and a jihad against the United States, a country he considered weak, foolish, and retreating from the Middle East. I declared that this was:
‘One of those obscure Middle East events of the utmost significance that is ignored by the Western mass media, especially because they happen in Arabic, not English; by Western governments, because they don’t fit their policies; and by experts, because they don’t mesh with their preconceptions.’
Two and a half years ago, who would ever have thought that the United States would enter an alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood? There were hints in President Barack Obama’s Cairo speech, yet now it is clear that this is the new basis for regional security sought by the Obama Administration.
For all practical purposes the closest allies to the United States are no longer Israel, Saudi Arabia, and a moderate Egypt but an Islamist Egypt, an Islamist regime in Turkey, and the Syrian rebels led by the Brotherhood.
And literally every mainstream media outlet, every expert who speaks in public, every Democrat and the majority of Republican politicians still don’t realize that this is true.”
There have been in American history the Truman Doctrine (help countries fight Communist takeover), the Nixon Doctrine (get local middle-sized powers to take part of the burden of the Cold War from the United States), the Carter Doctrine (defend Gulf Arab states from Iranian aggression), and the Reagan Doctrine (go on the offensive against Soviet expansionism). Now we have the Obama Doctrine:

Muslim Brotherhood Preacher, “If Anyone Tells You That He is Liberal, Tell Him Directly That He is Infidel”

The Arab Spring smells like a sewer.

Liberals, modernists and secularists are infidels and must be brought to trial for abandoning Islam, according to an ultra-conservative preacher in the Muslim Brotherhood. 

In a video posted on the YouTube channel of the privately owned newspaper Al-Shorouk newspaper on Sunday, preacher Wagdy Ghoneim said: “If they do not repent, the judge must apply the penalty for apostasy. 

“If anyone tells you that he is liberal, tell him directly that he is infidel.” 

Earlier this month, Ghoneim caused controversy after issuing a fatwa — an Islamic religious edict — that said joining the Constitution Party, led by Nobel laureate Mohamed ElBaradei, is forbidden by Islam. Calling it an “infidel” party, Ghoneim said he refused to recognize secular, liberal or leftist political movements. 

Members of the Constitution Party subsequently filed a complaint against Ghoneim, saying that he had defamed and insulted their party and its members. 

George Ishaq, a founding member of the Constitution Party, told Al-Masry Al-Youm that Ghoneim is inciting sedition. 

Former liberal MP Amr Hamzawy refused to comment on Ghoneim’s remarks, telling Al-Masry Al-Youm that “we shouldn’t respond to such fatwas.”

The reality is that we are now emboldening a regime that is going to start taking over the entire Middle East.

Muslim Rep. Keith Ellison: Republicans Are “Party of Hate” For Banning Shariah Law in Platform

The Hill Blog reported:

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) blasted Republicans for including a plank in their convention platform targeting Shariah law in an interview with Mother JonesWednesday, blasting the language as “an expression of bigotry.”

“There has never been any legislation offered to establish Shariah law — not at the federal level, not at the state level. There’s not been a municipal ordinance opposing this, there’s not been anything,” said Ellison, the nation’s first Muslim member of Congress.

The Republican platform included language demanding “no use of foreign law by U.S. courts in interpreting our Constitution and laws.”

“Nor should foreign sources of law be used in State courts; adjudication of criminal or civil matters,” the platform continues in a section championed by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who has been outspoken in his concern that the moral code of Islam could be playing a greater role in the American justice system.

Ellison blasted Republicans as “the party of hate” for having “demonstrated hatred towards Muslims” in adopting the language.

Intelligence Committee Chair Describes Explosive Confrontation Between Netanyahu and American Ambassador

Rep. Mike Rogers, the Michigan Republican who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, says that his much-discussed meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem late last month did, in fact, devolve into an sharp confrontation between Netanyahu and the American ambassador to Israel, the former National Security Council official (and former Obama campaign Jewish liaison), Dan Shapiro. 

Rogers told a Michigan radio interviewer earlier this week that he had not previously witnessed such a high-level confrontation, and he described Israeli leaders as being at "wits' end" over what they see as President Obama's unwillingness to provide them with his "red lines" in the effort to stop Iran's nuclear program. He also said that neither the Israelis nor the Iranians believe that Obama would use force to stop the nuclear program. (UPDATE: Rogers said as well he believes the Israelis will "probably" bomb Iran if they don't get clearer red lines from the U.S.) 

Rogers description of the meeting directly contradicts repeated Administration assertions that there is "no daylight" on the Iran issue with the Israeli government.

Just days after a report that the U.S. was sharply cutting its participation in a military exercise scheduled with Israel, U.S. planes landed in Egypt Tuesday for a joint exercise, the first since the fall of Hosni Mubarak. Code-named “Eagle Arena 2012,” the exercise will include air and naval forays by US and Egyptian planes and boats, over the country, Sinai, and the Red Sea.

Islamophobic Hysteria Becomes Conventional Wisdom

Calling the Arab Spring "radical" once made us Islamophobes. Now even the New York Times agrees.

It’s been quite a week to be the author of The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America.

My book was well received by the public and generously reviewed by some of the conservative press. In what passes for the “mainstream” media, however, it was mostly ignored and otherwise panned as Islamophobic hysteria. This was because the book had two themes that were deeply unpopular:

1. Islamic supremacism is not a fringe ideology, but instead an entirely mainstream interpretation of Islam that is followed by hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide — the dominant Islam of the Middle East, and — whether a majority or a strong plurality — the dynamic Islam in the rest of the world today, including the West. Its chief proponents are the Saudi kingdom and the Muslim Brotherhood (Iran and its satellites compete with a Shiite version that is equally revolutionary, but there are vastly more Sunnis than Shiites). The Brotherhood rightly perceives itself as the intellectual vanguard of a global Islamic mass-movement with a ground-up strategy for Islamizing societies that prioritizes the implementation of sharia.

2. Islamists and Leftists are frequent collaborators. Though their disagreements are several and not trivial (e.g., women’s rights, gay rights, abortion), they are in harmony on basic, big-picture matters. Both ideologies are totalitarian in the sense of wanting centralized control of people’s lives, down to the small details; both elevate the good of the collective (or the ummah) over the individual; both are vigorously anti-capitalist (something most Americans still do not know about Islamist ideology); and neither can succeed in achieving its grand design without suppressing the liberties and self-determinism of the citizen.

On point 2, some objected to my use of the word sabotage in the subtitle. The word is not something I came up with, though. I was quoting an internal Muslim Brotherhoodmemorandum which described the Islamist mission in America as “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within” by means of “sabotage” (to be precise, by “sabotaging” the “miserable house” that is “Western civilization”).

This concept of pretending one’s intentions are benign in order to bore into a society’s institutions and fundamentally to transform them from within mirrors the Alinsky-style community organizing favored by the hard Left. Given that Islamists admit (at least among themselves) that they are committing sabotage, and given their propensity to make common cause with Leftists who employ the same transform-from-within strategy, I do not think there is much merit in this objection to the word sabotage. Put a different way, I think the real objection is that I spotlighted something they would rather keep hidden.
