"The desire of Government employees for fair and adequate pay, reasonable hours of work, safe and suitable working conditions, development of opportunities for advancement, facilities for fair and impartial consideration and review of grievances, and other objectives of a proper employee relations policy, is basically no different from that of employees in private industry. Organization on their part to present their views on such matters is both natural and logical, but meticulous attention should be paid to the special relationships and obligations of public servants to the public itself and to the Government.
All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service.
It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with Government employee organizations. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or rules in personnel matters," - Franklin Delano Roosevelt
All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

A Turning Point in theIranian People's Revolution
The 'rebel' Ayatollah Montazeri passed yesterday on Qods Day. I had been concerned about the lack of new protest footage coming out of Iran late this week, but today I am just swimming in it and can barely keep up.
Iranians have been protesting almost every day since the 7th and of course screaming from rooftops every night for months. I have been documenting this in a playlist in my sidebar, which you've all hopefully noticed by now.
But this is something I have not seen before: people taking to the streets, in Tehran on Mohseni Square, no less, late into the night.
Stick a fork in the mullahs. They're done.
I will be updating the stream all day as new footage turns up and Planet Iran has a great liveblog which is also being constantly updated.

Back Door Obama Leaves NH Demonstrators Out in the... Heat, Actually
Most of the Obamabots arrived on buses with professionally pre-printed signs. At least 25% of them showed up wearing identical STOP GLOBAL WARMING t-shirts which does give one pause as to the connection between that and the Obama Hellcare Plan. Not much SEIU presence but a lot of AFL-CIO, etc. The LaRouchies showed up with ObamaHitler signs, strolled into the pro-Obama crowd and refused to leave. Our side looked very scanty until about 10 am when an additional 50 or so showed up and more or less evened it out. Their side had a Jamaican drum band but we had more and better bullhorn orators.
I don't really give a rat's ass what went on in the meeting because it was all prepackaged anyway.
OBUMMAH.

It's Official: The Pentagon Has Met the Enemy and It Are Us
Pentagon Exam Calls Protests 'Low-Level Terrorism,' Angering Activists
Wednesday, June 17, 2009 By James Osborne
A written exam administered by the Pentagon labels "protests" as a form of “low-level terrorism” — enraging civil liberties advocates and activist groups who say it shows blatant disregard of the First Amendment.
The written exam, given as part of Department of Defense employees’ routine training, includes a multiple-choice question that asks:
“Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorism?”
— Attacking the Pentagon
— IEDs
— Hate crimes against racial groups
— Protests
The correct answer, according to the exam, is "Protests."
“Its part of a pattern of equating dissent and protest with terrorism," said Ann Brick, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, which obtained a copy of the question after a Defense Department employee who was taking the test printed the screen on his or her computer terminal."It undermines the core constitutional values the Department of Defense is supposed to be defending,” Brick said, referring to the First Amendment right to peaceably assemble.
The Pentagon spokesman says he thinks this is from an exam intended for people stationed abroad. He doesn't say how "attacking the Pentagon" fits that particular spin. Maybe they could replace it with "Tea Parties".
There's lots more. Read it all.

The 'Oldest Hatred' Lives, from Gaza to Florida
In Toronto, anti-Israel demonstrators yell "You are the brothers of pigs!," and a protester complains to his interviewer that "Hitler didn't do a good job."
In Fort Lauderdale, Palestinian supporters sneer at Jews, "You need a big oven, that's what you need!"
In Amsterdam, the crowd shouts, "Hamas, Hamas! Jews to the gas!"
In Paris, the state-owned TV network France-2 broadcasts film of dozens of dead Palestinians killed in an Israeli air raid on New Year's Day. The channel subsequently admits that, in fact, the footage is not from Jan. 1, 2009, but from 2005, and, while the corpses are certainly Palestinian, they were killed when a truck loaded with Hamas explosives detonated prematurely while leaving the Jabaliya refugee camp in another of those unfortunate work-related accidents to which Gaza is sadly prone. Conceding that the Palestinians supposedly killed by Israel were, alas, killed by Hamas, France-2 says the footage was broadcast "accidentally." (read it all)
