More Uranium Reportedly Found in Iran
I just can't believe it.The U.N. atomic agency found traces of highly enriched uranium at an Iranian site linked to the country's defense ministry, diplomats said Friday, adding to concerns that Tehran was hiding activities aimed at making nuclear arms.
The diplomats, who demanded anonymity in exchange for revealing the confidential information, said the findings were preliminary and still had to be confirmed through other lab tests. But they said the density of enrichment appeared to be close to or above the level used to make nuclear warheads

OOPSI !! But wait, it will be YEARS AND YEARS before there's anyting to worry about, right?

I am sure they will only enrich it 10 or 15% right.
Do you mean to tell me you don't trust Iran.
The sad part is that the will get it to about 40 or 50% and go with that. One dirty bomb can ruin your whole day. I pray for Jacob's people.
I pray for us all.
As time has gone on, this Iran issue has left me feeling like I have a huge hairball stuck in my chest.
I am pretty much resolved to the fact that there is going to be a very large boom someplace. And then, after many, many people have died, and the world has finally stopped blaming the US for not doing something about it, maybe something will be done about Iran.
Even then, I won’t hold my breath. The way the world, the US and the UN have been behaving, I have no confidence that anybody will have the guts to do anything about Iran. Ever. All of the tough talk is just that, talk. And this talk is going to cost millions of lives whenever it finally ends.
I've got to agree- the situation looks bleak to say the least.
What I can't get at the moment is the lack of media interest in this story- I blogged on this late last night when I got online and saw the story listed on Google's news page. I hadn't seen the story mentioned on TV at all- and the BBC news website still doesn't have the story; or even mention it in their latest piece on Iran and the fact that the UN is apparently going to make another offer to Iran (rather than actually do something).
Seems to me that the UN has finally reached the complete end of its useful lifespan- Iran is poised on the verge of getting a nuclear weapon, they're on the Disarmament Commission, the brand new Human Rights Commission is still packed with the worst human rights offenders and the Security Council is hamstrung by the ability of a single permanent member to veto any move.
If the UN is unable to actually do anything then it looks like it's time to disband it altogether. Why on earth should we be beholden to an organisation which refuses to act in the face of grave danger? Why should the vested interests of Russia or China always trump the right of the US and allies to act?
Chistine, you said that after millions have died, then people will stop blaming the U.S.
I am beginning to fear that we will be blamed EVEN IF WE ARE THE ONES ATTACKED.
The question is whether we will be attacked when we have a President who will do something about it.
World opinion doesn't really matter much in the face of American power. Jay Mac is right; the interests of Russia and Japan should not trump the U.S. all the time, and the UN is useless at this point.
Oh no, I didn't mean they would stop blaming America after millions are dead. I meant that maybe something might be done about Iran after millions are dead.
The world will never stop blaming the US, ever.
Gotcha.
You are all missing why this really IS all our fault.
We keep on refusing to KILL EVERYONE who doesn't think like us, eat like us (bread on the butter side down?), look like us, legislate like us, play like us, pray like us, build like us, win like us, give like us, work like us, and smell like us.
If we would just KILL all those people, no one would blame us.
Good idea, Epa.
