Authorities Investigate Stun Gun Found on JetBlue Plane
Authorities are investigating how a stun gun managed to make it through security and onto a flight that landed at Newark Liberty International Airport, Fox 5 reported Sunday.
The FBI is investigating how the stun gun got aboard a JetBlue flight from Boson on Friday, a federal law enforcement source said.
According to sources, a striker 1800 stun gun was found by a cleaning crew inside the back pocked of a seat on Jet Blue flight 1179 after the passengers had disembarked, Fox 5 said.
After the gun was discovered, the workers called the Port Authority Police, Jet Blue and the PA said. The Transportation Safety Administration was also notified.
Sources suspect that the stun gun made it through screening at Bostons Logan Airport.
JetBlue confirmed this information with Fox 5 News and said it was cooperation with the investigations.
Authorities are pursuing the identifies of everyone who had access to the seat pocket where the gun was found.

Besides passengers, that stun gun could have made it onto the plane through any airport employee who had access. Think back to the last time you were at the airport. Note the number of ME types working with the TSA, inthe baggage claim area, servicing the planes, maintaining the planes, kiosks etc. As I often see in comments. . ."Nothing to see here . . .move along."

The security varies greatly from airport to airport. I just dropped my daughter and son in law off for their flight back to Anchorage. Boarding in Anchorage there was very little fuss. Inspect of the packages and pass through the metal detector. Boarding in Philly this monring they had to disarm my daughter of s very dangerous over the size limit jar of cocoa butter (she's expecting). WHen they flew home from Honolulu after a business trip in April they made her go through the xray imaging even though she told them (and was obviously) pregnant. No choice of a patdown. Go through the scanner or it's the cops and an arrest.
Meanwhile, any and every time I pick them up I'm walking around the airport, chatting it up with cops and TSA types while carrying a fully concealed Walther PPK or Sig 230.
Airport security is a fucking joke.
Stun gun disguised as a CELL PHONE, people.
Totally innocent.
